Field of use

Widmer acne plus cream (pack size: 20 g) is used with ordinary acne vulgaris (blackheads, pimples, pustules).

Contradictions

Thefsitivity reactions can occur against all medicines, then you have to stop taking the medication immediately. If an allergy to the active ingredient or one of the other components of the drug is known, it must not be applied.

Benzoylperoxide-containing preparations with special caution are to be applied to neurodermatitis with dry skin.

dosage

-apply to the skin -1-2 times a day.
-The sensitive skin is advisable to start with one -time use (preferably in the evening).
- In patients under the age of 18 who tend to be particularly acne, the improvement can then be maintained with less frequent applications (2-3 times a week).

Taking

-After washing, the cream is applied to the infected dry skin in a thin layer.
- Patients with far -reached facial acne should only apply the preparation in the first few days in a small area. If this application is well tolerated, larger areas can be treated.
- Benzoylperoxide-containing skin preparations must not be applied to mucous membranes and in the area of the oral, nose and eye angles.
- If necessary, treatment can be combined with internal tetracyclin therapy.

Patient information

- The treatment should be continued until the disease signs (normally 2-8 weeks).

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only use medication after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist!
- Benzoylperoxide-containing medicines should only be used during pregnancy after careful estimate of the benefit/risk ratio. Benzoylperoxide should not be used in the last month of pregnancy.
- Data on use in pregnancy in humans are not available.
- Benzoylperoxide is completely broken down into benzoic acid in the skin after external use. There are case reports that an accumulation of benzoic acid in the blood has been observed in premature babies, which may have been caused by the reduced metabolic activity of the liver. As a result, metabolic acidose can occur. Increased benzoic acid concentrations in the serum could also lead to a displacement of bile dyes and thus trigger jaundice.
- Findings about the transition to breast milk after external treatment during breastfeeding are not available. Benzoylperoxide should only be used during breastfeeding after careful estimate of the benefit/risk ratio.

Miscellaneous

- Due to the high hypersensitivity rate, benzoylperoxide should not be applied to damage.
-A simultaneous intensive UV radiation (sunbathing, solariums) of the skin surfaces treated with benzoylperoxide and a simultaneous use of other skin-irritating agents should be avoided.
- At the beginning of the treatment, the effect can be used to use slight skin irritation such as reddening, itching, feeling of tension, burning as well as drying out and moderate peeling. If these signs last for longer than 5 days, the preparation must be discontinued and the doctor must be consulted.
- The cream can bleach colored fabrics and textiles as well as hair.
