Field of use

Vitamin C axicur 500 mg film-coated tablets (pack size: 100 pc) is used to prevent relapses (relapses) in cystin-harn stone disease in combination with uretal alkalization measures.

Active ingredient: ascorbic acid (vitamin C)
A film -coated tablet contains 500 mg ascorbic acid.

Other components: microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, talcum, stearic acid (Ph. EUR.), Hypromellosis, croscarmellosis sodium, lactose, titanium dioxide (E171), quinoline yellow aluminum salt (E104)

Contradictions

In the case of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients mentioned above, the product should not be used.

The recommended dose is:
Treatment to prevent recurrences in cystin-harnstein disorders in combination with urine alkalization measures

Adults 6 to 8 film -coated tablets vitamin C axicur 500 mg film -coated tablets (corresponding to 3 to 4 g of ascorbic acid) in several individual doses throughout the day.

Children and adolescents 4 to 6 film -coated vitamin C axicur 500 mg film -coated tablets (corresponding to 2 to 3 g of ascorbic acid) in several individual doses throughout the day.

Taking

• Take the film -coated tablets with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water).

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.
  • Particular caution when taking the preparation is required if kidney stones from oxalate and/or certain diseases in which too much iron is stored in the body (thalassemia, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia). If this applies to you, you may only take the medicine after consulting your doctor.
  • You should not use the medicine with limited kidney function.
  • When taking high doses of vitamin C (more than 4 g daily), patients with erythrocytic glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (hereditary disruption of the metabolism of the red blood cells) were used in individual cases. T. heavy hemolysis (resolution of the red blood cells) observed. Exceeding the recommended dosage must therefore be avoided. Please ask your doctor for this.
  • If the kidney stone is tilted, there is a risk of the formation of calcium oxalate stones when taking high doses of vitamin C. Patients with recurring calcium oxalate stone formation is recommended not to exceed a daily admission of 100 to 200 mg vitamin C.
  • In patients with high -grade or terminal renal failure (dialysis patients), a daily admission of 50 to 100 mg vitamin C should not be exceeded, otherwise the risk of high oxalate concentrations in the blood (hyperoxalateemia) and the formation of oxalatecrystals insisted in the kidneys. Please ask your doctor for this.
  • Small children
    • A high-dose ascorbic acid treatment in toddler age can only be carried out under strict medical control.

  • The medicine has no influence on the ability to use and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
