Field of use

• The medicine is a vitamin preparation.
• Cyanocobalamin belongs to the group of fabrics, which are summarized as "vitamin B₁₂.
• The medicine is used:
  • to treat a vitamin B₁₂lack of deficiency, which cannot be remedied in terms of nutrition.
• Vitamin B₁₂deficiency can comment in the following clinical pictures:
  • hyperchrome macrocytic megaloblast anemia (perniciosa, beer mermumer anemia, addison anemia; these are mature disorders of the red blood cells)
  • funicular spinal disease (spinal cord damage)
• A laboratory diagnostically secured vitamin B₁₂lack of:
  • years of deficiency and malnutrition (e.g. through strictly vegetarian food)
  • Malabsorption (insufficient absorption of vitamin B₁₂ in the intestine):
  • insufficient production of intrinsic factor (a protein that is formed in the gastric mucosa and required to absorb vitamin B₁₂ )
  • Diseases in the end section of the ileum (part of the small intestine), e.g. B. Sprue
  • Fish bandwurmfall or
  • Blind-loop syndrome (change in the intestinal course after stomach operation)
  • congenital vitamin B₁₂transport disorders

Contradictions

• Must not be used
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against cyanocobalamin or one of the other components of the drug.

dosage

• Always apply the preparation exactly according to the instruction.
• Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is
  • At the beginning of the treatment, 1 ampoule (corresponding to 100 µg cyanocobalamin) is administered daily in the first few weeks after diagnosis.
  • In the case of proven vitamin B₁₂recording disorder in the intestine, 1 ampoule (according to 100 µg cyanocobalamin) is then administered once a month.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The preparation is intended for longer use. Please ask your doctor.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • Poisoning or overdose symptoms are not known.

 

• If you cancel the application
  • If the treatment is interrupted, you endanger the success of the treatment!
  • If you experience unpleasant side effects, please talk to your doctor about further treatment.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The drug is usually administered intramuscularly (injected into a muscle). However, it can also slowly be intravenously or subcutaneously sprayed (into a vein or under the skin).
• The infusion also dilutes in 250 ml 0.9%saline solution. The mixture should always be freshly prepared.

Pregnancy

• The recommended daily vitamin B₁₂intake in pregnancy and lactation is 4 µg. According to the previous experience, higher applications have no adverse effects on the unborn child.
• Vitamin B₁₂ is excreted in breast milk.
