Mode of action
How does the ingredient of the medicine work? The active ingredient of the drug is carbomer. Carbomer has an increased viscosity compared to aqueous solutions. Despite the increased viscosity, the gel mixes slightly with the tear fluid. It forms a wetting, transparent film on the surface of the eye, so that the optical function is not affected. The film replaces lack of tear fluid or a tear film in a lack of quality and enables irritable gliding with the eyelid. The surface of the eye is protected from drying out.
