As an adult or children aged 12 and over, you can take Tetesept St. John's Wort 500 mg capsules (pack size: 60 pieces) 1 hard capsule twice a day, if possible regularly at the same times, unchewed with plenty of liquid.
The onset of action is expected within 4 weeks of treatment.

  • This preparation should not be used together with other medicines.
  • Medicines that contain components of St. John's wort (Hypericum), like this one, can interact with other medicines: Active ingredients from Hypericum can accelerate the excretion of other medicines and thereby reduce the effectiveness of these other substances. However, active ingredients from Hypericum can also increase the concentration of a so-called messenger substance' (serotonin) in the brain, so that this substance can potentially have dangerous effects, especially when combined with other medications that act against depression.
  • If you are already using this medicine, you should inform your doctor if he prescribes another medicine for you or if you want to take another medicine available without a prescription in the pharmacy. In these cases, consideration should be given to stopping treatment with these capsules.
  • If simultaneous use with other medicines is considered necessary, your doctor must consider the possible interactions:
    • Reduced effectiveness of

    • Increased effectiveness of other types of anti-depressant drugs such as

  • Simultaneous use of the capsules should only be carried out after careful benefit/risk assessment due to the possible occurrence of serotonin syndrome with nausea, vomiting, anxiety, restlessness or confusion.
  • Before planned surgical procedures with general or partial anesthesia, you should speak to your doctor at least 1 - 2 weeks in advance to identify possible interactions between the preparations used. In this case, the capsules should be discontinued at least a week before the surgical procedure.
  • While taking these capsules, intensive UV-radiation (long sunbathing, sunlamps, solarium) should be avoided.
  • The user should consult a doctor or other qualified person working in a healthcare profession if symptoms of the disease persist or if side effects other than those mentioned in the “Side Effects” category occur.
  • Children and young people under 18 years of age
    • There are no sufficient data on the use of this medicine in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. The application is therefore not recommended.
