Instructions for use

The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

How should it be used?
Suck the medicine slowly or let it dissolve in the mouth.

Duration of use?
You should not use the medicine for more than 3-5 days without medical advice. If symptoms persist, you should consult your doctor. The medicine should not be used for more than 2-3 weeks.

Overdose?
An overdose may cause, among other things, nausea, confusion, rapid heart rate, breathing difficulties, muscle cramps, agitation, and impaired consciousness. If you suspect an overdose, consult a doctor immediately.

In general, pay careful attention to the dosage, especially for infants, small children, and the elderly. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any side effects or precautions.

The dosage prescribed by your doctor may differ from the information in the package leaflet. Since the doctor adjusts the dosage individually, you should therefore use the medicine according to his or her instructions.

General dosage recommendation:

Patients with impaired liver or kidney function: You may need to reduce the individual or total dose, or extend the dosing interval, in consultation with your doctor.

How does the active ingredient in the drug work?

The active ingredient relieves the urge to cough by paralyzing the cough center in the brain. To prevent mucus from accumulating in the airways, the substance is only suitable when the cough is completely dry. Overdosing on the substance risks causing airway congestion or difficulty breathing.

- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
- Bronchial asthma

- Pneumonia
- Respiratory weakness
- Reduced breathing

In certain circumstances - consult your doctor or pharmacist:
- Impaired liver function
- Impaired kidney function
- Cough with heavy mucus production
- Tendency to drug abuse
- Nervous system disease (neurological disease), such as stroke, Parkinson's disease, dementia

Which age group should be considered?
- Children under 6 years of age: This medicine must not be used.

Silomat^® Cough Suppressant Dextromethorphan with Honey Flavor 7.7 mg Lozenges
For use in children 6 years of age and older and adults.

Active ingredient:
Dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate.

For the symptomatic treatment of tickly coughs. A tickly cough is a dry cough that does not expel mucus (nonproductive cough).

Note:
Do not use more or for longer than recommended. Contains invert sugar (from honey), maltitol, and cyclodextrin(s).

When the acute symptoms of a cold are over, you hope you're over it. Your runny nose dries up again, and you no longer produce mucus when coughing. Nevertheless, the coughing continues and becomes excruciating. It irritates the sensitive mucous membranes in the bronchi, leading to inflammation. ANWENDUNGSEMPFEHLUNG
Silomat^® lozenges with real honey should only be used for dry coughs without mucus production.

Children aged 6 and older can take one lozenge with real honey from Silomat^® every 4-6 hours, but no more than 6 per day. Teenagers aged 12 and older and adults can take 1-3 lozenges every 4-6 hours, but no more than 12 per day. Then slowly dissolve the lozenges in the mouth.

Perfect for stopping the dry cough when you go to sleep. The drops are too aggressive for me and I only take them in an emergency when I have a real attack. These tablets are a temporary solution and are usually enough to get through the last few days of the infection.
