How do the ingredients of the medicine work?

The medicine contains a combination of the active ingredients benzydamine and cetylpyridinium. Benzydamine has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antibacterial effects. When applied topically, cetylpyridinium kills various bacteria and viruses on the surface, thus acting as a disinfectant.

Contraindications

This product should not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the above ingredients.

Dosage

Recommended use of Septolete Lemon-Honey Flavor 3 mg/1 mg (Pack size: 16 lozenges):

Adults, children, and adolescents over 12 years of age take 1 lozenge every 3-6 hours (no more than 3-4 lozenges per day)
Children aged 6 to 12 years take 1 lozenge every 3-6 hours (no more than 3 lozenges per day).
Suitable for adults and children 6 years and older.

How to take

• Do not use the lozenges immediately before or during food or drink. Do not eat or drink anything for at least 1 hour after using the medicine.
• Using this medicine immediately before or after brushing your teeth is not recommended.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using these throat lozenges,
    • if you are allergic to salicylates (e.g., acetylsalicylic acid and salicylic acid) and other painkillers known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). In this case, the use of this medicine is not advisable.
    • if you suffer or have suffered from bronchial asthma. In this case, caution is advised.
    • if you have open wounds of the mucous membranes or ulcers in the mouth and throat.
  • Do not use the throat lozenges for longer than 7 days. If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days, or if other symptoms such as fever occur, consult a doctor.
  • The use of topical medications, especially with long-term use, may cause sensitization. Treatment must then be discontinued, and a doctor must be consulted for appropriate therapy.
  • This medication should not be used concomitantly with anionic compounds such as those used in toothpaste. Therefore, use of this medication immediately before or after brushing is not recommended.
  • Children and adolescents
    • This medication should not be used by children under 6 years of age.

 

• Driving and using machines
  • The throat lozenges do not affect the ability to drive or use machines.

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
