Mode of action
How does the ingredient of the medicine work? The ingredients come from the marigold plant and act as a natural mixture. About the plant itself:
- Appearance: Marigolds have bright yellow or orange flower heads on hairy, angular stems. The leaves are almost spatulate and hairy at the bottom.
- Occurrence: Central and southern Europe, western Asia and USA
- Main ingredients: flavonoids, saponins and triterpenes
- Plant parts and preparations used: Extracts and tinctures from the flowers and the whole herb as well as marigold oil
Saponins are able to cause cells such as bacterial cells to burst and therefore have an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect. Together with the flavonoids and the triterpenes, they accelerate the healing of superficial wounds.

Detailed instructions for RINGELBLUMEN TEA, 40 g
Traditional medicinal tea for treating inflammation in the mouth and throat as well as external wounds.
promotes wound healing
anti-inflammatory
Aurica Marigold Tea is a soothing, aromatic medicinal tea made from the dried golden flowers of the marigold "Calendula officinalis". The valuable ingredients of the marigold blossoms can promote wound healing and inhibit inflammation. Marigold tea is therefore traditionally used as a gargle for inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth or throat and for external wound treatment. Ailments from poorly healing wounds, minor burns and skin rashes are alleviated by poultices made from marigold tea.
Composition: Medicinally active ingredient: marigold blossoms
Dosage instructions and type of application: Unless otherwise prescribed, the mouth area is rinsed or gargled 2 - 3 times a day with a still warm infusion. For use in wounds, poultices are prepared 2-3 times a day with an infusion. The infusion is prepared as follows: Pour boiling water (approx. 150 ml) over 1 - 2 teaspoons of marigold blossoms (approx. 0.8 - 1.6 g) and leave to infuse for approx. 10 - 15 minutes.
Note: If the symptoms of mild inflammation of the mucous membranes in the mouth and throat last longer than 1 week, recur or unclear symptoms occur, a doctor should be consulted. In the case of severe reddening of the wound edges in large, weeping or purulent infected wounds, consultation with a doctor is required.
Contraindications: There are no adequate studies on the use of marigold blossoms during pregnancy and breastfeeding or in children under 12 years of age. Preparations made from marigold blossoms should therefore not be used by this group of people.
Interactions with other agents: None known.
Side effects: None known.
If you notice any side effects, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
