Field of use
- The preparation is a medicine against travel sickness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting.
- The medicine is used for
- Prevention and treatment of travel sickness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting (not in chemotherapy).

Contradictions
- The medicine must not be taken
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against dimen hydrinate or other components of the preparation
- in early and newborns
- if you are pregnant
- in the case of seizures (epilepsy, eclampsia)
- if the prostate gland (prostateadenoma) is enlarged with residual urine formation
- with increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma) with a tight chamber angle
- in the case of alcohol abuse
- in the case of defectal blood flow to the brain
- if they are treated with certain antibiotics (aminoglycoside antibiotics), since the preparation can cover the earning effects caused by aminoglycoside antibiotics
- if you suffer from a certain innate blood formation disorder (porphyria)
dosage
- Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is
- To prevent travel sickness
- Take 1 tablet 3 times a day. The 1st tablet should be taken 30 minutes before the start of the trip.
- To treat travel sickness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting
- Take 1 - 2 tablets every 4 hours, but not more than 6 tablets a day.
- Dosage in children
- Children from 6 to 12 years take up 1/2 - 1 tablet every 6 - 8 hours, but not more than 3 tablets a day.
- To prevent travel sickness
- Duration of the application
- The preparation should only be taken for a few days without consulting the doctor.
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.
- If you have taken a larger amount than you should
- In the event of an overdose, there may be sleepiness and dizziness symptoms such as dry mouth, visual disturbances and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Massive overdosing leads to cramps, mental disorders with delusion of sensations, unrest, accelerated heartbeat sequence, blood pressure increase and pronounced peripheral anticholinergic symptoms.
- When overdosing with dimen hydrinate, the active ingredient of the preparation, call the next accessible doctor to help! Children are particularly at risk when taking larger amounts of the drug.
- Please have the package of the drug so that the doctor can find out about the active ingredient.
- Regardless of this, you can try to empty the stomach contents by forced vomiting.
- If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask yoursn doctor or pharmacist.

- Preferably take the tablets before meals with plenty of liquid.

- Children
- In early and newborns, the preparation must not be used, since the child's organism is particularly sensitive to the active ingredient.
- Children
- Wateriness and operating machines
- Even with intended use, the medicine can change the reaction so far that the ability to actively participate in road traffic, to operate machines or to work is impaired without a safe hold. This applies even more in combination with alcohol.
Pregnancy
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.
- Pregnancy
- The medicine must not be taken during pregnancy, since dimen hydrinate can trigger contractions prematurely.
- Breastfeeding
- Dimenhydrinate merges into breast milk and should therefore not be taken during breastfeeding.
Hints
Miscellaneous
- After using dimen hydrinate, light sensitivity to the skin can occur; therefore avoid direct sunlight.
- Sleepiness, memory disorders and reduced ability to concentrate can have a negative impact on the ability to drive or the ability to work with machines. This applies particularly inadequate sleeping time, when the treatment starts and in interaction with alcohol.
- No alcohol should be drunk during treatment with dimen hydrinate.
- Dimenhydrinate can possibly lead to incorrect test results with allergy tests.
- After a longer daily application, sudden termination of the treatment can temporarily occur sleep disorders. Therefore, treatment should be ended in these cases by gradually reducing the dose.
- Dimenhydrinate is not suitable for the sole treatment of nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy.
