Propolis Manuka Capsules 250 mg

Manuka honey is a globally recognized ingredient and valued for its many beneficial properties. Even in ancient times, the Maori tribe in New Zealand attributed various healing powers to honey. Among other things, they used honey to kill pathogens, disinfect wounds and inflammation, support their healing and alleviate seasonal diseases. The honey is produced by honey bees (Apis mellifera) from the flower nectar of South Sea myrtle (Manuka or Leptospermum scoparium). South Sea myrtle is native to the mountainous regions of New Zealand and south-east Australia. The most important ingredient in Manuka honey is methylglyoxal (MGO), which is only found in high concentrations in this honey. Because Manuka honey is in high demand worldwide, it is often counterfeited. To confirm the authenticity of the honey, the MGOcontent is measured and issued as a certificate.

Manuka oil also comes from South Sea myrtle and is much more tolerable than Australian tea tree oil due to its low cineol content. In the past, manuka oil was used, among other things, by seafarers to treat gum disease and numerous other ailments.

Propolis, also called bee resin, is a resinous substance made by bees. The ingredients of the propolis can vary greatly depending on the location of the beehive. The bees use them on the one hand to seal the beehive and on the other hand to kill introduced bacteria, fungi and microorganisms. The raw material for the propolis is collected by the bees on buds and tree wounds.
