Field of use

• The preparation is a medicine with a dry yeast/medicinal hire in the event of diarrhea and acne.
• The medicine is used for:
  • Treatment of complaints in acute diarrhea.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against yeast or one of the other components of the preparation.
  • if you suffer from a life-threatening disease (e.g. complicated intensive medical disease courses) or a weakened immune defense (e.g. from HIV infections, organ transplantation, leukemia, malignant tumors, radiation, chemotherapy, long-term cortisone treatment) and/or if They have a central venue catheter.
  • In these cases, the risk of colonizing the whole body (generalized settlement) with Saccharomyces Boulardii has not yet been assessed.
  • In any case, infants and toddlers under the age of 2 can be excluded from self -medication, since diarrhea in infants and toddlers under 2 years require consultation with the doctor.

dosage

• Always take the preparation exactly according to the instruction. Please ask for a doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for children from 2 years and adults is:
  • to treat acute diarrhea 1 to 2 times a day 1 capsule
    • (corresponding to 250 to 500 mg of dry yeast made of saccharomyces boulardii daily).
  • to prevent travel diaries, starting 5 days before departure, 1 to 2 times a day 1 capsule
    • (corresponding to 250 to 500 mg of dry yeast made of saccharomyces boulardii daily).
  • in the case of probe nutritional diarrhea, the content of 3 capsules in 1.5 liters of nutrient solution every day
    • (corresponding to 750 mg of dry yeast made of saccharomyces boulardii daily).
  • 1 capsule at acne 3 times a day
    • (corresponding to 750 mg of dry yeast made of saccharomyces boulardii daily).
• Please take the capsules in front of the meals with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of water).
• To take children under 6 years, the capsule must be opened by pulling apart and the content must be stirred into food or drinks. The drinks or dishes must not be too hot or ice -cold (room temperature).

 

• Duration of the application
  • In principle, no restrictions on the duration of use are known for taking yeast preparations.
  • In the event of diarrhea, you should continue the treatment a few days after the complaints subsided.
  • For accompanying chronic forms of acne, taking over several weeks is recommended.
  • Please speak mit your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the preparation is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount of the preparation than you should
  • If you accidentally took one or two capsules more than intended, this usually has no adverse consequences.
  • If you have significantly overdosed this medicine, the side effects may occur. In this case, you should consult a doctor.

 

• If you forgot to take the preparation
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.

Taking

• Please take the capsules in front of the meals with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of water).

• Particular caution when taking the preparation is required,
  • if you suffer from serious basic diseases, especially in the area of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Saccharomyces Boulardii is a living microorganism that can cause generalized fungal infections in the blood circulation or through external contamination of central vein catheters under unfavorable conditions, as they occur in defense patients. There are individual cases of such fungal infections in hospital patients who had a central vein catheter, suffered from life-threatening diseases or serious underlying diseases (mostly in the area of the gastrointestinal tract) or had a strongly weakened immune defense.
  • You should see a doctor in the event of diarrhea that lasts for more than 2 days or with blood and temperature increases.
  • In the event of diarrhea, especially in children, you have to pay attention to the replacement of liquid and salt (electrolytes) as the most important treatment measure.
  • If the acne is aggravated or the absence of acne, you should see a doctor.
  • If microbiological stool examinations are carried out shortly after treatment with the preparation, you or your doctor should inform the examination laboratory, otherwise false-positive findings could be created.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • No precautionary measures are required.

Pregnancy

• So far, there have been no evidence of risks during pregnancy and during breastfeeding from the widespread use of yeast as food. Results of experimental studies for Saccharomyces Boulardii are not available. Therefore, the drug should not be used during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
