Field of use

• The preparation is a drug whose active ingredient inhibits the growth of certain viruses (virostatics).
• Field of use:
  • For the soothing therapy of pain and itching as well as to accelerate crust formation in the natural healing process of acute episodes of light forms repeatedly occurring lip bubbles (recurrent herpes labialis).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you have occurred in earlier after the application of aciclovir-containing creams or you are known to react to Famciclovir or one of the ingredients allergic.
  • on mucous membranes (e.g. in the mouth or genital area). You should make sure to avoid an application in the eye or near the eye.
  • in immunosuppressed patients, i.e. in patients whose body's immune defense is suppressed.

dosage

• Always apply the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, this is the usual dose:
  • Please use the preparation as possible immediately after the first symptoms appear (e.g. burning, itching). However, if bubbles have already formed, you can still start using the drug, as a later application also accelerates the healing process and shortens the period of pain.
  • You should apply the preparation thinly to the infected skin at least 6 times a day during waxing (at least 6 times a day).
  • You should use the cream after eating. If you have accidentally rubbed the cream an hour after application, you should carry out an additional application.

 

• Treatment duration:
  • You should continue treatment with the preparation over a total of 4 days (corresponding to 96 hours). Please keep this time even if you feel better before. Please do not break the treatment even if a significant improvement has not occurred immediately. If there is a deterioration in the skin appearance during treatment with the medicine, please break the treatment and search for your doctor.
  • You should also speak to your doctor if your lip herpes does not heal properly after treatment with the preparation.

 

• If you applied a larger amount than you should
  • take the excess cream off the skin again with a cloth. If you have applied a large amount of the drug at once to the skin, no harmful effects can be expected apart from slight skin irritation.
  • If the preparation has been accidentally swallowed up, except irritations are in the area of MUnD mucosa also no harmful effects. In both cases, no special treatments are necessary. If you still have concerns, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

 

• If you have forgotten to apply your medicine at the intended time,
  • get this as soon as you can (longer breaks can have an impact on the effect). The next applications should then be done again every 2 hours.

Taking

• To apply on skin.
• Apply thinly to the infected skin areas with a clean finger. Alternatively, you can also use a cotton swab that was coated with a quantity necessary for the size of the affected skin area. If you should apply the cream with your finger, please wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying the cream.

Patient information

• Application for lip herpes in children
  • There are no experience in patients under the age of 12. For this reason, lip herpes must not be used in these patients.
  • Further special precautions are not required during the use of Fenistil Pencivir for lip herpes. If you are not sure whether you suffer from lip herpes (herpes labialis), ask your doctor for advice.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines:
  • No effects are known.

Pregnancy

• Please inform your doctor and ask him for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, since the medicine should only be used during pregnancy and lactation after careful risk-risk assessment.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.
