Instructions for use for PARACETAMOL Sophien 500 tablets, 20 pcs

Field of use

- With slight to moderately severe pain
- With fever

With high fever, signs of secondary infection or the symptoms of more than three days, the doctor should be consulted.

Contradictions

The medicine must not be used/applied
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) compared to paracetamol or one of the other components
- if you suffer from a serious impairment of the liver function

Particular caution is required when using the drug:

Take the medicine only after consultation with your doctor
- if you are chronically alcoholic
- if you suffer from the impairment of liver function (liver inflammation, Gilbert syndrome)
- with pre -damaged kidney

dosage

1 Tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol.

- Young people from 12 years and adults (body weight > 43 kg): 1 - 2 tablets according to 500 - 1000 mg (maximum dose per day: 8 tablets according to 4000 mg)
- Children from 11 - 12 years (body weight 33 - 43 kg): 1 tablet according to 500 mg (maximum dose per day: 4 tablets according to 2000 mg)

divisible tablets:
- Children from 8 - 11 years (body weight 26 - 32 kg): 1/2 tablet according to 250 mg (maximum dose per day: 2 tablets according to 1000 mg), in exceptional trolley 3 tablets according to 1500 mg with an income distance of min. 4 hours
- Children from 4 - 8 years (body weight 17 - 25 kg): 1/2 tablet according to 250 mg (maximum dose per day: 2 tablets according to 1000 mg)

The intake can be repeated at intervals of min. 6 hours. The maximum dose per day (24 hours) must never be exceeded.

Taking

- Take tablets with sufficient liquid.
- The intake after meals can lead to a delayed occurrence.

Patient information

- Paracetamol-containing medicines should not be used for more than 3-4 days without medical or dental advice and not in increased dose.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist!

- Paracetamol passes into child's blood.
- Studies on numerous mother-child pairs have no evidence of possible undesirable side effects on pregnancy or health of the fetus/newborn. Nevertheless, paracetamol should only be used during pregnancy with strict weighing up the benefit risk ratio.
- Paracetamol should not be taken over a longer period of time, in high doses or in combination with other medicines, since the security of the application is not proven for these cases.
- Paracetamol passes into breast milk. Since disadvantageous consequences for the infant have not yet become known, an interruption of breastfeeding during treatment will generally not be necessary.

Hints

Do not apply longer for pain or fever without medical advice than specified in the package insert!

Miscellaneous

Due to the effective strength, non-divisible tablets are not suitable for children and adolescentsr 11 years or under 33 kg kg. Medicines are available in other dosage forms or with a lower active ingredient content.
If the tablets can be divisible, an application is possible in children from a body weight of 17 kg or from the age of 4.

- If your symptoms worsen or no improvement occurs after 3 days, or if you have a high fever you have to see a doctor.
- In order to prevent the risk of overdose, it should be ensured that other medicines that are used at the same time do not contain any paracetamol.
- With a longer high -dose, non -determined use of pain relievers, headaches can occur that may not be treated by increased doses of the drug.
- In general, the habitual intake of pain relievers, especially when combining several pain relieving active ingredients, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure (analgesic nephropathy).
- In the event of abrupt stop after a long -dose, non -determined use of pain relievers, headaches and fatigue, muscle pain, nervousness and vegetative symptoms can occur. The deduction symptoms subside within a few days. Until then, painkillers are to be reinforced and the revenue should not take place without medical advice.
- Do not apply for a long time or in higher doses without medical or dental advice.
- Ursic acid determination and blood sugar determination can be influenced.
- Must not be taken or administered together with alcohol.
- There are interactions with other medicines to be observed.
