Field of use

• The medicine is a calcium vitamin D₃preparation.
  • It is used
    • for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis.
    • with proven calcium and vitamin D₃lack.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to calcium carbonate, Colecalciferol (vitamin D₃) or one of the other components of this medicine
  • if you suffer from diseases that result in an increased calcium content in the blood (hypercalcemia) or an increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalciuria)
  • if you suffer from kidney stones
  • if you suffer from vitamin D overdosing (hypervitaminosis d)

dosage

• Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • Adults, including older people
    • 1 effervescent tablet 1 times a day (corresponding to 1000 mg calcium and 1000 I.E. vitamin D₃)
  • Dosage for liver dysfunction
    • No dose adjustment is required.
  • Dosage in kidney dysfunction
    • The medicine must not be taken by patients with severe kidney dysfunction.

 

• The duration of the application is determined by the doctor. Please follow your doctor's instructions.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • Overdosing can lead to nausea, vomiting, pathological thirst or constipation.
  • If you suspect overdose, please inform your doctor immediately. This may take the necessary measures.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.
  • If you have forgotten to apply the medicine, then use the preparation the next day as usual - definitely not twice the amount.

 

• If you cancel the application
  • If you want to interrupt the treatment or end prematurely, e.g. B. because the side effects that occur seem too strong for them, please speak to your doctor beforehand.

Taking

• To dissolve in water.
• The effervescent tablet is dissolved in 1 glass of water and drunk immediately.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation,
    • if you use the preparation for a long time, ist to control the calcium level in the blood. The kidney function must be monitored by measurements of the serum creatinine. Monitoring is particularly important in older patients and patients who are treated with medicinal products to promote the function of the cardiac muscles (heart glycosides) or diuretic medicines (diuretics). This also applies to patients with a pronounced tendency to form stone formation. If increased calcium concentrations occur in the blood or signs of kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or the treatment is to be ended.
    • if you suffer from a kidney dysfunction, vitamin D is careful and to apply the calcium and phosphate levels. The risk of calcification of the soft tissues must be taken into account. Colecalciferol is not metabolized by patients with severe kidney dysfunction. Therefore, these patients should receive other vitamin D preparations.
    • The effervescent tablets may only be prescribed with caution due to the risk of increased conversion of vitamin D due to the risk of increased conversion of vitamin D. The calcium level in serum and urine must be monitored in these patients.
    • The medicine may only be taken with caution from patients who, due to the longer immobilization of limbs (immobilization osteoporosis) due to longer immobilization of limbs (immobilization osteoporosis), because they have an increased risk of increased calcium concentrations in the blood.
    • If other vitamin D preparations are used at the same time, the dose of 1000 I.E. Vitamin D₃ per tablet should be taken into account with the preparation-released dose. Additional gifts of calcium or vitamin D should only be carried out under close medical supervision. In these cases, regular monitoring of the calcium levels in serum and urine is required.
  • Children
    • This medicine is not intended for use in children.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • There is no data on the influence of this drug on the road. However, an influence is unlikely.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• The medicine should not be used during pregnancy and lactation due to the high dosage of vitamin D.
• Pregnancy
  • During pregnancy, overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided, since a long-lasting increased calcium content in the blood (hypercalcaemia) can lead to physical malformation and intellectual disabilities of the child.
• Breastfeeding
  • Calcium passes into breast milk in small quantities without having a negative effect on the child.
