Quercetin
Quercetin is a natural secondary plant substance. Secondary plant substances have various chemical structures with specific properties. Well-known groups of secondary plant substances are polyphenols, isoflavones, carotenoids, and oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC). These secondary plant substances protect plants from UV-radiation, viruses, and fungi.

Quercetin is primarily found in the outer layer of plants or fruits to protect them from free radicals. Quercetin is found in familiar foods, for example, in onions, apples, broccoli, and green beans. However, the preparation of these foods or a peeled apple unfortunately leads to a reduction in the natural quercetin content.

Quercetin, a valuable natural plant substance, is also extracted from the flowers of the Japanese pagoda tree. Combined with another natural polyphenol from grape seed extract and vitamin C, it is the ideal daily dietary supplement.
