Optiderm^® fat cream

Application areas:
To regulate the moisture of the horny layer, grease and itching, treatment for skin diseases with dry and/or itchy skin, such as atopic eczema (neurodermatitis), exsikcation eczema (drying out of detergents, etc.), as well as for further and follow-up treatment of the skin diseases mentioned.

Warnings: Cetyl alcohol can cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis).

Vicious circle itching
Dry skin can have many causes and is often associated with excruciating itching. This arises from a lack of skin fats and natural moisture factors. The sensitive skin barrier gets out of balance and can no longer perceive your protective function.
Scratches - as a natural reflex of the body - only gives a short relief of the itching and worsens the symptoms. A vicious circle of itching, scratching and inflammation arises.
Special care series such as Optiderm break through this vicious circle and offer reliable help. On the one hand, Optiderm quickly combats the agonizing itching and also gives the skin intensively moisture.

Unique combination of active ingredients
Optidm is the only medicinal product to contain a combination of the active ingredients urea (urea) and polidocanol. It maintains the skin and provides intense moisture.
Urea is one of the best moisture factors and supports the skin in its ability to bind water. It is often used for basic therapy for dry skin. Urea is also well tolerated as the body's own substance. Especially in people with neurodermatitis, psoriasis or diabetes, the content of urea in the skin is significantly reduced. Optiderm can compensate for this defect.
Polidocanol has a local (locally) anesthetic effect on itch -mediating nerve fibers and thus quickly against the excruciating itching. 1 In a week, the symptoms have often disappeared completely. The skin barrier stabilizes and can resume its natural protective function. 3

Optidm - the cortisone -free alternative in itching with urea and polidocanol.

Dosage and application note:
Unless prescribed differently, Optiderm fat cream is applied evenly to the affected skin areas twice a day. When using, make sure that the cream does not come into contact with eyes and mucous membranes and do not apply the preparation to acute inflamed, nutritious or infected skin.

The duration of the application depends on the clinical picture and is an average of three weeks. With continuing dry skin, the opterm fat cream can be used over a longer period of time.

Composition: (100 g of cream included)
The active ingredients are: 5.0 g urea and 3.0 g macrogollaurylether 6.5 (Ph. EUR.) (Polidocanol).

The other components are: cleaned water; medium -chain triglycerides; viscous paraffin; Isopropylpalmitat; Cetyl alcohol (Ph.Eur.); Macrogolstearyether 21 (Ph.Eur.); Butan-1,3-diol; Sodium lactate solution; milkacid; 2-[2-(Octadecyloxy)ethoxy]Ethanol; Sodium defeat (Ph.Eur.).

Optiderm fat cream has a high lipid content for intensive skin greasing for particularly dry skin. Optid fat cream is an oil-in-water formulation with 50% lipid content. The rich fat cream leaves a pleasant skin feeling and noticeably relaxes the skin. It is free of preservatives, fragrances and dyes

Contradictions

Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using Optiderm. Particular caution when using Optiderm is required if you apply the medicine near the eyes and mucous membranes. You shouldn't put Optiderm into contact with eyes and mucous membranes. When applying damaged or inflamed skin, skin irritation such as reddening or burning can occur. Please consult your doctor before using Optiderm in children.
