The medicine is primarily given if the diet or
other measures to reduce blood lipid levels, such as physical
training, alone are not sufficient.

Mode of action
How does the ingredient of the medicine work?The active ingredient lowers the blood fat level by hindering the body's own manufacture of certain fats in the liver, so -called neutral fats or triglycerides. The proportion of fats circulating in the bloodstream is thus reduced and their attachment to the inner walls ("calcification") is reduced.

Contradictions
What speaks against an application?Always:
- Hypersensitivity to the ingredients
Under certain circumstances - speak to your doctor or pharmacist:
- Limited kidney function
- Restricted liver function, such as:
- Cirrhosis of the liver (damage to the liver tissue)
Which age group must be observed?
- Children and adolescents under the age of 18: The drug should generally not be used in this age group.
- Older patients from the age of 70: The drug may only be applied after consultation with a doctor or under medical check.
What about pregnancy and lactation?
- Pregnancy: Contact your doctor. Various considerations play a role in whether and how the medicine can be used during pregnancy.
- Breastfeeding: An application is advised against current knowledge. You may be to consider a weaning.
If the medicine has been prescribed to you despite a counter -notification, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit can be higher than the risk of using the application.
Side effects
What adverse effects may occur?- Gastrointestinal complaints, such as:
- Nausea
- Stomach pain
- Taste disorders
- Mucosal inflammation of the stomach and small intestine
- Dizziness
Bif you know a state of mind or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
For information at this point, side effects are taken into account that occurs in at least one of 1,000 patients treated.
Hints
What should you consider?- Be careful with allergy against spices, such as anise, mugwort, dill, fennel, carrot, coriander, caraway, paprika, parsley, celery and tomatoes!
