Field of use

Octenident Antiseptic 1 mg/ml solution for use in the oral cavity (pack size: 250 ml) has an antimicrobial effectiveness. It is used for temporary germ payment reduction in the oral cavity, for temporary inhibition of plaque formation and with impaired oral hygiene capacity (e.g. if no tooth brushing is possible) in adults.

The active ingredient is octenidindihydrochloride.

1 ml solution contains 1 mg octenidindihydrochloride

The other ingredients are: glycerol 85% (E 422), sodium-D-gluconate, citronic acid, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dihydrate (ph. Mint-cool aroma (contains propylene glycol (E 1520)).

Contradictions

In the case of known hypersensitivity to one of the above -mentioned ingredients, this product should not be used.

dosage

Recommendation of consumption of OCTENIDENT Antiseptic 1 mg/ml solution for application in the oral cavity (pack size: 250 ml):

Use the solution twice a day (after meals and brushing your teeth).
To do this, fill 10 ml in the supplied measuring cup. If you use OCTENIDENT® Antiseptic immediately after brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water before using OCTENIDENT® Antiseptic.
Rinse your mouth thoroughly for about 30 seconds.
Then spit out the solution. The solution should not be swallowed. Do not rinse your mouth with water immediately afterwards.
Do not apply this medicine for more than five days in a row.

Taking

• If you use the preparation immediately after brushing your teeth, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water before using the solution.
• Rinse your mouth thoroughly for about 30 seconds. Then spit out the solution. The solution should not be swallowed.
• Do not rinse your mouth with water immediately afterwards.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • The medicine is only intended for superficial application. It must not be brought deep into the tissue, for example with a syringe or a blunt cannula, to avoid irritation of the surrounding tissue, which can range from slight swelling to severe tissue necrosis. In particular, it should not be used to rinse periodontal bags, root canals or wound caves after dental operation.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the solution.
  • The medicine is only intended for rinsing in the mouth and should not be swallowed. Therefore, it should only be used in patients who are able to rinse their mouths out.
  • Avoid contact with your eyes. Rinse with water immediately and thoroughly when you contact your eyes and thoroughly
  • Temporary discoloration of the tongue can occur that disappear after the end of the treatment. There can also be discoloration of the teeth that can be removed.
  • Children and adolescents
    • Octenidindihydrochloride is not recommended in children and adolescents, as it is in dthe age group has not yet been examined.
