Field of use

• The medicine is a laxative.
• The preparation is used for short -term treatment for stool plug (constipation).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken at
  • Hypersensitivity (allergy) against viscous paraffin or one of the other components.
  • Consciousness disorders.
  • Swallowing and gastric emptying disorders.
  • acute diseases of the upper and lower abdomen such as:
    • acute inflammatory diseases (appendicitis, acute deterioration of chronically inflammatory bowel diseases).
    • Colon lock or suspected intestinal lock.
    • Investigation breakthrough or suspicion of intestinal breakthrough.
  • For children up to the second year of life, the intake is not indicated.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to this instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the following initial dosage scheme is recommended:
  • A weight -dependent dosage of 1 - 2 ml per kg body weight makes sense for the age group of 2 - 12 years. From the age of 12, the adult dose of 10 - 45 ml per day is recommended.
  • The further dosage is based on the continued existence of the symptoms. Please ask your doctor.
  • The information below should help calculate the dosage:
    • Children from 2 years
      • Body weight: approx. 12 kg
        • Recommended daily dose: 10 - 20 ml
    • Children from 6 years
      • Body weight: approx. 20 kg
        • Recommended daily dose: 10 - 30 ml
    • Children from 12 years and adults
      • Body weight: from approx. 40 kg
        • Recommended daily dose: 10 - 45 ml
• The specified daily dose can be taken at once or distributed in individual doses.
• The effect occurs after about 6 - 12 hours.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The application of laxatives should not be carried out without medical advice and only at short notice. The duration of the drug should generally be limited to 7 days.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • When overdosing, paraffin from the anus (after) and the involuntary exit of chair (stool incontinence) can occur.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.

Taking

• Shake the bottle well before use.
• Incidentally, it is important to pay attention to a time -shifted (at least 1 hour) intake of meals in order not to disturb the absorption of fat -soluble vitamins.

Patient information

• Particular caution is required when taking it
  • Due to the risk of accidental inhalation of the active ingredient in the lungs (aspiration pneumonia), the drug should not be taken immediately before going to bed.
  • The intake shouldthe risk of accidental inhalation of the active ingredient (aspiration) only take place in an upright posture.
  • In the case of bedridden and disabled patients with increased aspiration risk, the preparation should not be taken without consulting a doctor.
  • Laxatives should only take place in the event of constipation. Medicinal treatment is only recommended if you could achieve no or no sufficient success by changing your diet (increased intake of fiber -rich food and sufficient fluid intake) as well as by changing your lifestyle (e.g. sufficient physical exercise).
  • Children
    • Children under the age of 6 should only receive the medicine after express instruction from the doctor.
    • The preparation is not recommended for children under 2 years as well as for children with a risk of aspiration or disabled children.

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

 

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy
  • A reduced absorption of fat -soluble vitamins from the digestive tract in pregnant women can lead to an impairment of the unborn child. If you are pregnant, you may only take the preparation if your treating doctor considers this necessary. Higher doses and repeated intake must be avoided during pregnancy.
• Breastfeeding
  • It is not known whether the drug will pass into breast milk. If you breastfeed, you may only take the preparation if your treating doctor considers this to be absolutely necessary. Higher doses and repeated intake must be avoided during breastfeeding.
