Field of use

• The preparation is a means of treating fungal infections (antifungal).
• It is used for the topical intestinal treatment of proven nystin-sensitive yeast infections of the gastrointestinal tract, especially as a result of therapy with antibiotics, cytostatics or corticoids.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used
  • if you are hypersensitive to Nystatin or a related active ingredient (amphotericin B, Natamycin), or one of the other components of the drug
  • for the treatment of systemic (the internal organs relating to) fungal infections.

dosage

• Always apply the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for adults and children from the age of 6: Take 1 film -coated tablet 3 times a day.

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the application is 2 weeks or as long as treatment with medication that promotes yeast growth.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Very few information is available for overdose when using oral use of nystatin. Since the intake from the gastrointestinal tract in the body is negligible even at high doses after oral administration, side effects of nystatin on the organism are not to be expected even in the event of overdose. If necessary, the usual measures to remove medication must be taken from the gastrointestinal tract.

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not apply the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake. Pass the treatment as specified.

• If you cancel the application
  • You could endanger the success of the treatment. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before stopping the treatment with the medicine.

• Nystatin, the active ingredient in this medicine, is hardly absorbed in therapeutic dose after oral gift over the intact skin or over the mucous membranes.
• The placenta barrier does not happen, and a transfer to breast milk is also not to be expected.
• The medicine can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
