Contradictions

• the medicine must not be taken
  • If you are allergic to Nystatin or a related active ingredient (amphotericin B, Natamycin) or one of the other components of this medicine

dosage

• Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
• The recommended dose is
  • In children (>/= 2 years) and adults, depending on the severity of the disease, drop in 0.5 - 1.5 ml suspension after meals a day,
  • newborns (0 to 4 weeks) and toddlers (1 month to 2 years) receive 0.5 - 1 ml of suspension 4 times a day.
  • colonization prophylaxis of the gastrointestinal tract.
    • 3 to 4 times a day 150,000 i.E. for newborns and toddlers
    • At least 4 times 500,000 i.E. daily in adults with risk factors.
    • Notice:
      • Nystatin should not be used for so -called intestinal renovation in immunocompetent people (Candida belongs to the normal colon flora).
  • Oral.

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Very few information is available for overdose when using oral use of nystatin. Since the intake from the gastrointestinal tract in the body is negligible after oral administration, even at high doses, side effects of nystatin on the organism are not to be expected even when overdosed. If necessary, the usual measures to remove medication must be taken from the gastrointestinal tract.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake:
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.

 

• If you cancel the intake.
  • You could d.endanger the success of treatment. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before stopping the treatment with the medicine.

Taking

• For use in the oral cavity and to take.
• Please shake the bottle vigorously before use.
• Put on the suspension with the pipette to the desired marking line (0.5 or 1 ml) or remove with the dosing pump (1 stroke corresponds to 0.5 ml, 2 cubes 1 ml). Put the suspension in the oral cavity and leave in the mouth for a few minutes, then swallow.

    • Due to the high osmolarity of Nystatin, an application for very underweight and immature premature babies is advised.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • There is no experience with regard to the impairment of traffic and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Nystatin, the active ingredient in this medicine, is hardly absorbed in therapeutic dose after oral gift over the intact skin or over the mucous membranes. The placenta barrier does not happen, and a transfer to breast milk is also not to be expected.
• The medicine can be used after pregnancy and breastfeeding for benefits/risk assessment.
