Field of use

• The medicine is a yeast -specific antifungal antifungal.
• It is suitable for the treatment of nystatin -sensitive yeast infections of the oral cavity (oral soor).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to Nystatin or one of the other components of this drug.
  • in infants under 4 months and children in whom the swallow reflex is not yet fully trained.
• Experience in the use of patients treated with cytostatics is not available.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
  • Infants and toddlers between 4 - 24 months:
    • In infants and toddlers (4 - 24 months), it makes sense to put 1/2 - 1 measuring spoon (1/2 - 1 gram) before and after the meal. This can optimize the effect of nystatin in the mouth. The gel should not be applied in the back to avoid a possible aspiration. Even in infants and young children, the elderly of the gel in the mouth must be striving for as long as possible.
  • Children (>/= 2 years) and adults
    • Take the preparation 3 - 6 times a day, in severe cases every 2 hours, each 1g gel (1 measuring spoon).

 

• Duration of the application
  • A significant improvement occurs within a few days during the treatment of the oral thrust. However, the treatment should be continued at least 2 days beyond the discharge of the symptoms.
  • The duration of the treatment should not exceed 28 days.

 

• If you have taken a larger mengel than you should
  • Very few information is available for overdosing with oral use of nystatin. Since the intake from the gastrointestinal tract in the body is negligible after oral administration, even at high doses, side effects of nystatin on the organism are not to be expected even when overdosed. If necessary, the usual measures to remove medication must be taken from the gastrointestinal tract.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.

 

• If you cancel the application
  • You could endanger the success of the treatment. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before you cancel the treatment.

Taking

• For application in the oral cavity.
• The medicine is taken, left in the mouth for a few minutes and then swallowed.
• Ffor the treatment of yeast piling infections of the mouth, it has proven to be expedient to cover the affected areas with a cotton swab on which the preparation was previously applied. Due to its detention, the gel is suitable for treatment in the oral cavity.
• The tube thread must be cleaned after use and tighten the tube.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation.
  • Children
    • Due to the high osmolarity of Nystatin, an application for very underweight and immature premature babies is advised.
    • It is important to take the variable in maturation of the swallowing function of infants, especially if the medicine is given to infants between the ages of 4 and 6 months.
    • In premature babies or in children with delayed neuromuscular development, the lower age limit should be increased to 5 to 6 months.
  • Aspiration in infants and toddlers
    • Caution is required, especially in infants and toddlers (4 months to 2 years) so that the gel does not close the neck. Therefore, the gel should not be used in the back of the throat. Each dose should be divided into small individual portions and applied with a clean finger in the mouth. Infants and toddlers should therefore also be observed after the application. Also because of the risk of suffocation, the gel should not be applied to the nipples of a breastfeeding woman for use in the infant.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • There is no experience with regard to the impairment of the traffic and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • Nystatin is hardly absorbed in therapeutic dosage after oral administration over the intact skin or over the mucous membranes.
• Breastfeeding
  • The placenta barrier does not happen, and a transfer to breast milk is also not to be expected.
• The preparation can be used after pregnancy and breastfeeding for benefits/risk assessment.
