Field of use

Nicorette Mint Spray with nicotine (pack size: 2 pcs) is used to support you when you give up smoking if you want to stop smoking immediately or to support you in reducing your cigarette consumption (smoke reduction) to achieve the complete exit of smoke. This is a type of treatment called nicotine replacement therapy.

Mode of action

Through every spray, therapeutic nicotine gets into the bloodstream via the oral mucosa and lets the nicotine level rise. This reduces the acute desire for a cigarette.

Nicorette mint spray with nicotine (pack size: 2 pcs) contains:

The active ingredient is nicotin.
A spray releases 1 mg of nicotine.

The other components are: propylene glycol (E1520), ethanol, trometamol, poloxamer 407, glycerol (e422), sodium hydrogen carbonate, levomenthol, mint aroma, freshness aroma, sucralose, acesulfam potassium, butylhydroxytoluol (E321), hydrochloric acid (to the pH value setting) and cleaned water.

Contradictions

Nicorette mint spray with nicotine (pack size: 2 pcs) must not be used,
• if you are allergic to nicotine or one of the other components of this drug.
• If you are under 18 years old.
• If you have never smoked.

dosage

Dosage of Nicorette Mint Spray with nicotine (pack size: 2 pcs):

Do not apply more than 2 sprays directly in a row or 4 sprays per hour over 16 hours. Over a period of 24 hours, the maximum dose is 64 sprays within 16 hours. Usually you should use nicorette® Mint Spray for 3 months when smoking cessation with an immediate smoke stop. When reducing smoke with subsequent smoking stop, cigarettes can first be reduced. nicorette® Spray should not be used for more than 6 months.

Taking

a. Hold the spray can as close as possible to the open mouth.
b. To give a spray in your mouth, press the donor at the top. You should avoid wetting your lips or breathing in while spraying so that no spray gets into your throat. You will achieve the best results if you don't swallow a few seconds after spraying.

Warnings and Precautions
Please speak to your doctor before using this medicine if you suffer from one of the following diseases. You may be able to use nicorette® MINT Spray, but must first consult with your doctor,
• If you recently suffered a heart attack or a stroke (within the last 3 months).
• If you have pain in the chest (unstable angina pectoris) or angina pectoris alone.
• If you have a heart disease that affects the speed of your heartbeat or heart rhythm.
• If you suffer from high blood pressure that is not sufficiently set by medicines.
• If you ever had allergic reactions with swelling of lips, face and throat (angioedema) or itchy rash (urticaria). The use of nicotine substitutes can sometimes trigger such reactions.
• If you have a severe or moderate liver disease.
• If you suffer from severe kidney disease.
• If you have diabetes.
• If your thyroid is overactive.
• If you have a tumor of the adrenal gland (Phäochromocytom).
• If you have a stomach or duodenum ulcer.
• If you suffer from inflammation of the esophagus (esophagitis).


Use of nicorette® Mint Spray together with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take/apply other medicines, have recently taken or intend to take other medicines or intend to take/use other medicines, even if it is not prescription medicines. This is particularly important if you take medicines that contain one of the following active ingredients:
Theophyllin for the treatment of asthma
Tacrin for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease
Clozapin for the treatment of schizophrenia
Ropinirol for the treatment of Parkinson's disease

Application of nicorette® Mint Spray together with food and drinks
You are not allowed to eat or drink while using the spray.

nicorette® Mint Spray must not be used by non -smokers.

Children and adolescents
Do not give this medicine to children or adolescents.

Pregnancy

It is very important to stop smoking during pregnancy, as smoking can lead to reduced growth of your baby and also to a premature birth or stillbirth. It is best if you can give up smoking without using nicotine -containing medicines. If you do not succeed, you should only use nicorette® Mint Spray after consultation with medical specialist personnel who accompanies your pregnancy with your family doctor or with a doctor in a center that specializes in helping people to give up smoking.
The use of nicorette® Mint Spray should be avoided during breastfeeding because nicotine merges into breast milk and can affect your child. If your doctor has recommended the application of nicorette® Mint Spray, you should apply the spray immediately after breastfeeding and not in the last 2 hours before breastfeeding.
Smoking increases the risk of infertility in women and men. It is not known what effects nicotine has on fertility.
