Field of use

• The preparation is an acido therapy for correction of metabolic acidosis.
• Application areas
  • To treat the metabolic acidification of the blood (metabolic acidosis) and for conservation treatment against the recurrence of the metabolism -related acidification of the blood in the case of chronic undermill (chronic renal insufficiency).
• Note: Patients with a blood PH below 7.2 require the correction of acidification (acidosis) by infusion.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken
  • if you are hypersensitive (allergic) against sodium hydrogen carbonate or one of the other components of the preparation.
  • for metabolic base surplus (metabolic alkalosis).
  • with low serum potassium (hypocalaemia).
  • with increased serum sodium (hypernatremia).
  • with low -sodium diet.
  • of children under the age of 14.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• The dosage is always based on the severity of the metabolic acidification of the blood (metabolic acidosis).
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • 6 - 9 Soft capsules per day, corresponding to 3 - 4.5 g sodium hydrogen carbonate per day.

 

• Duration of the application
  • As long as existing metabolic acidosis requires a prescription of nephrotrans by a doctor. The preparation must not be taken uncontrollably over a longer period of time.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Overdose of sodium hydrogen carbonate can lead to alkalosis of the blood with symptoms such as muscle weakness, fatigue, flat breathing. Please contact your doctor immediately to initiate countermeasures and for dose setting.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake, but continue in this case with the prescribed intake. However, please inform your doctor.

 

• If you cancel the intake
  • Please inform your doctor about this.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The soft capsules should possibly be taken over the day with a little liquid over the day.

Patient information

• Particular caution when taking the drug is required
  • in the event of a weakened breathing (hypoventilation).
  • with low calcium content of the blood (hypocalcaemia).
  • with increased salt content of the blood (hyperosmolar conditions).
• The sodium content (137 mg sodium = 6 mval per soft capsule) should be taken into account especially in the case of long -term treatment; If necessary, an armal or armed diet is to be observed in order to counteract the further increase in an existing high blood pressure.
• The effect of the drug must initially and especially at higher doses at least 1 - 2 week distance (e.g. pH measurement, standard bicarbonate, alkali reserve). The plasma electrolytes, especially sodium, potassium and calcium, must also be checked regularly. Depending on the result of these controls, the respective further dosage must be determined. • Wateriness and operating machines:
  • The preparation has no influence on the traffic and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.
• There are no experience with taking the preparation . Although there is no objection to taking sodium hydrogen carbonate (active ingredient of the preparation) if the indication corresponds, during pregnancy and breastfeeding should only be taken after consultation with the treating doctor.
