How does the ingredient of the medicine work?

The ingredients come from the myrrh plant and act as a natural mixture. About the plant itself:
- Appearance: Resin-rich, thorny shrub from whose bark exudes yellowish resin, which dries in the air to a red-brown mass
- Occurrence: Northeast Africa
- Main ingredients: mucilage, essential oils
- Plant parts and preparations used: extracts and tinctures of the resin dried in air
On mucous membranes, myrrh contracts the tissue, disinfects and promotes wound healing. A growth inhibition of fungi has also been proven.
In addition to the "medicinal effect", myrrh is used as an additive in soaps, toothpaste and mouthwash.
