Antimicrobial foam association for acute and chronic wounds with signs of infection

Mepilex® AG is a foam association for moderately exuding chronic or acute wounds, such as venous leg ulcers or burns in which there are signs of infection. Infected wounds are painful wounds that must be treated in the best possible way. To ensure that pain is minimized when changing the association, Mepilex AG is liable to the gentle Safetac® Technology1. In order to further improve the cure result, Mepilex AG also offers an antimicrobial effectiveness thanks to its silver technology. It was proven clinically 5 that burns with Mepilex AG heal faster, pain -free and cheaper than with silver sulfadiazin.

When is Mepilex AG to be used?
Mepilex AG is intended for the treatment of weak to moderately exuding wounds that have signs of infection. Mepilex AG can be used under compression.

Mepilex AG is a soft and highly adaptable antimicrobial foam association, which absorbs exudate and maintains a moist wound milieu. The Safetac layer seals the wound edges and thus prevents exudate expires to the wound-surrounding skin, which minimizes the risk of maceration. Thanks to the Safetac® technology, the association can be lifted or changed effortlessly, so that traumatization of the wound and pain is minimized for the patient.

Mepilex AG makes wound -specific pathogens within 30 minutes and ineffective for up to 7 days. By reducing the number of microorganisms, Mepilex AG also reduces the smell.
