Alginate association with silver complex

If there is an increased risk of infection, Melgisorb® AG is the first choice for strong exuding wounds. It absorbs up to 45 % more exudate than leading silver associations and offers sustainable antimicrobial effects2. Since silver ions are released into the wound fluid, Melgisorb® AG is also suitable for combating a variety of microorganisms. The structural stability of the fibers enables the resistance removal when changing the association.

Application areas

Melgisorb AG can be used in all moderately to strongly exuding, superficial and deeper wounds in which an infection is present. These include: postoperative wounds, traumatic wounds (skin lesions, trauma injuries or incisions), leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, skin removal points, wound caves and burns 1st and 2nd degree.

 

Mepilex Border or Mextra Superabsorbent is suitable as a secondary association. We recommend tubifast to fix.

 

Melgisorb AG can be used under the supervision of a medical specialist for infected wounds or wounds with an increased risk of infection.

 

Preparation of the position to be supplied
Clean and rinse the wound according to the standard protocols.
Dry the healthy, wound skin.

 

Creating the association

Cut the bandage (with a sterile scissors) to the required size or put it together so that it completely covered the wound.
Place it directly on the wound bed. Fill out deep wounds easily and make sure that the bandage material does not protrude beyond the wound edges.

Cover Melgisorb AG with a non -occlusive secondary association.

 

 

Association change and remove
Melgisorb AG can remain up to 7 days. The frequency of the change of association depends on the condition of the wound and the exudation strength. Initially, a change of association may be required every 24 hours.

 

Change Melgisorb AG when the secondary association has soaked up with woundx studio or, as is indicated by the usual, clinical application.
To do this, carefully remove the secondary association.
Seld through the bandage with a sterile saline solution before removing a dry wound before removing.

 

Carefully remove the bandage from the wound bed and dispose of it.
If necessary, rinse the wound before attaching a new association in accordance with the medical standards.
