Area of application

Honey from New Zealand with at least 250mg methylglyoxal (MGO) per kilogram of honey.
A purely natural product from the flower nectar of the New Zealand Manuka tree with the natural ingredient methylglyoxal (MGO).

Avitale Manuka Honey is exclusively produced in New Zealand. The Manuka tree, also known as the South Sea myrtle, grows in the rugged and remote mountain regions of this small country on the other side of the world. Bees extract a unique nectar from the blossoms of this tree, which can grow up to 4 meters tall. This nectar acquires special properties when stored in the honeycombs of the hive.
Even the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand, attributed special properties to the Manuka tree and have used it for centuries.
One possible reason for this could be the ingredient methylglyoxal, often abbreviated to "MGO." Research into the specific effects of MGO has been ongoing for many years. It is a sugar degradation product that has antibacterial properties. Due to the special composition of the nectar of the Manuka tree, Manuka honey has a much higher MGOcontent than other types of honey. Whether in your favorite muesli, as a spread, or with a cup of tea, enjoy Manuka honey the way you like it best.
We recommend consuming 1-2 teaspoons of Avitale Manuka Honey daily so that the special properties of this unique honey can fully develop.
MGO it is largely heat-resistant. Avitale Manuka Honey can therefore be safely used in warm dishes and drinks.
