Field of use

• The preparation is a remedy for anemic wealth (Antianema) with 2-quality iron as an active ingredient.
• It is used in the case of proven iron deficiency states - especially iron deficiency anemia - caused by
  • increased iron loss (e.g. for increased menstrual bleeding; after operations, blood donations; in the event of bleeding due to diseases of the digestive tract)
  • reduced iron absorption (e.g. after removal of stomach and intestinal sections)
  • increased iron requirement (e.g. during pregnancy).

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to iron (II)-gluconate or one of the other components of this medicine
  • in the case of iron recycling disorders (sideroachrestic anemia, lead anemia, thalassemia, porphyria cutanea tarda)
  • in the case of iron overload of the body (hemochromatoses, hemolytic anemia)
  • of infants and children below 16 kg body weight.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is:
  • Adults: Adults take 1 effervescent tablet, 2 to 3 effervescent tablets daily with higher grade anemia.
  • Children and adolescents:
    • For children, the daily dose is 3 - 5 mg Fe (II) ions/kg body weight.
    • Children from 16 kg body weight and adolescents take 1 effervescent tablet daily (maximum 5 mg iron ion per kg body weight per day).
    • Medicines with less effectiveness are available for children below 16 kg of body weight.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The doctor decides on the duration of the application. Basically, iron therapy must be carried out over a long time.

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.

Taking

• To dissolve in 1/2 to 1 glass of water.
• Please take the medicine half to an hour before meals.
• Please dissolve the effervescent tablet in a half until a glass of drinking water and drink the contents of the glass completely.
• If necessary, the effervescent tablet can also be dissolved in vitamin C-contaminated fruit juice.
• When the gastrointestinal disorders occur, it is recommended to reduce the individual doses or to take the effervescent tablets as meat as possible and meal-containing meals. In children, the solution can be mixed with food for the child's stomach.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this preparation.
  • In the event of pre-existing inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal mucosa, the benefit of the treatment should be carefully weighed against the risk of worsening the gastrointestinal disease.
  • When taking liquid iron supplements, a tooth discoloration often occurs, which can be eliminated by intensive cleaning of the teeth. In such cases, you should only take the drinking solution with a drinking straw.
  • During the treatment, the stool and the corresponding laundry discoloration can occur.
  • Children
    • The medicine is not suitable for children below 16 kg body weight.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • So far, there is no evidence that the drug affects the ability to actively participate in road traffic or to operate machines. The same applies to work without a safe hold.

Pregnancy

• If the prescribed dosage is observed, there are no concerns about taking during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Miscellaneous

- Not all forms of anemia need to take iron. With certain forms, the additional intake of an iron medication can even be disadvantageous.
- In rare cases, the teeth can change their teeth when taking liquid iron medication, which can be removed by intensive cleaning of the teeth and/or by using a drinking straw or by drinking plenty of fluid.
- When taking iron, there is usually a harmless black coloring of the kots while taking it.
- Iron can be the cause of constipation.
- The doctor should check the blood values about every 4 weeks.
