Loratadin-ratiopharm® 10mg tablets
Active ingredient: loratadine
Application areas:
Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis (hay fever) with symptoms such as sneezing, nose flow, nasal itching and itching and burning the eyes. Symptomatic treatment of chronic hives with the symptoms itching, redness and whispering of the skin.

Field of use
- The medicine belongs to the group of antihistamines and is used to treat the symptoms in certain allergic diseases associated with increased histamine release.
- The preparation is used to treat the symptoms with allergic runny nose (e.g. hay fever) and chronic, idiopathic urticaria (hunt for unknown cause).

Contradictions
- The medicine must not be taken
- if you are hypersensitive to Loratadin or one of the other components
dosage
- Always take the medicine exactly according to this instruction.
- Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
- Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
- Adults and children over 12 years:
- 1 tablet once a day (corresponding to 10 mg Loratadin).
- Children from 2 to 12 years:
- With a body weight of over 30 kg:
- 1 tablet once a day (corresponding to 10 mg Loratadin).
- With a body weight of 30 kg or below:
- The tablet in the dose thickness of 10 mg is not suitable for children with a body weight of less than 30 kg.
- With a body weight of over 30 kg:
- The effectiveness and safety of the drug in children under 2 years are not proven.
- Adults and children over 12 years:
- Patients with serious liver damage:
- An initial dose of 1 tablet (corresponding to 10 mg Loratadin) is recommended every other day in adults and in children with a body weight of over 30 kg.
- A dose adjustment in older patients or in patients with renal failure is not required.
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
- If you have taken a larger amount than you should
- During an overdose of loratadine, sleepiness, accelerated heartbeat (tachycardia) and headache were described.
- If you have taken too many tablets, please inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
- In the event of an overdose, a treatment geared and supported by the symptoms must be initiated immediately and continued as long as necessary. Activated carbon can be administered in water. A gastric flushing can be considered. Loratadin is not removed by blood linen (hemodialysis) and it is not known whether loratadine is excreted by peritoneal dialysis. After emergency treatment, the patient must remain under medical supervision.
- If you have forgotten the intake
- Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake.
- If you have forgotten to take a tablet in good time, take it as soon as possible. Then continue as recommended.

Patient information
- Particular caution is required when taking it
- if you go to suffer a severe liver dysfunction.
- if you plan to have a skin test carried out. The application of the medicine should be interrupted at least 48 hours before the implementation of skin tests, since antihistamines such as this preparation can otherwise prevent or weaken positive reactions to the skin test.
- Children
- The effectiveness and security of children under 2 years have not been proven.
- Wateriness and operating machines
- In some rare cases, drowsiness can occur in some people, which can lead to an impairment of traffic or the ability to operate machines.
- It is therefore advisable to wait for your individual response to taking the drug before keeping a vehicle or operating machines.
Pregnancy
- In animal experimental studies, no fruit -damaging effect of Loratadin was found. The safety of the use of Loratadin during pregnancy has not been proven, which is why it is advised against the application of the drug during pregnancy.
- Since Loratadin merges into breast milk, an application during breastfeeding is advised.
