Field of use

Contradictions

• The preparation must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to levocetirizine, cetirizine, hydroxyzin or one of the other components of this medicine.
  • if your kidney function is severely restricted (heavy renal insufficiency with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly after consultation with your doctor. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• Adults and children from 6 years
  • The recommended dose for adults and children from the age of 6 is 1 film -coated tablet daily.
• Special dosage instructions for certain patient groups
  • Kidney and liver disorders
    • Patients with severely restricted kidney function must not take the preparation.
    • Patients with restricted kidney function as well as patients with limited liver and kidney function may receive a lower dose that depends on the severity of kidney disease and in children in addition to the body weight. The dose is determined by your doctor.
    • Patients with exclusively limited liver function should take the recommended dose (1 film -coated tablet daily).
• Older patients aged 65 and over
  • If the kidney function is normal, no dose adjustment is required in older patients.
• Application in children
  • The application is not recommended for children under the age of 6.
    

   

• How long should you take the preparation?
  • The duration of use depends on the type, duration and course of your symptoms. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • If you have taken a larger amount than you should, you can appear in adults. In children, excitement and restlessness and then sleepiness can occur.
  • If you suspect an overdose, please notify your doctor. This will decide on the necessary measures.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake of the preparation. Take the next amount at the next time.

 

• If you cancel the intake
  • The end of treatment with levocetirineratiopharm® should not cause any harmful effects. Nevertheless, in rarethe cases after the end of the preparation of Pruritus (strong itching) occur, even if these symptoms were not present before treatment. The symptoms can disappear spontaneously. In some cases, the symptoms can be very intense and require treatment to be resumed. After the treatment is resumed, the symptoms should disappear.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the preparation
    • If you suffer from a limited kidney function, please ask your doctor for advice; If necessary, you will take a lower dose. Your doctor will set the new dose.
    • If you may not be able to completely empty your bubble (such as a spinal cord injury or an enlarged prostate), please ask your doctor for advice.

    • If you plan to have an allergy test carried out, you should ask your doctor if you should interrupt the application of the preparation several days before the test. This medicine can influence the result of your allergy test.
  • Children
    • For children under the age of 6, the use of the preparation is not recommended, since the film -coated tablets do not adjust a dose adjustment.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • In some patients, sleepiness/drowsiness, tiredness and fatigue can occur under therapy. Caution should be exercised when driving or operating machines until you know how this medicine works for you.
  • In special studies, however, no impairment of the attention, the reaction and the driving ability of healthy test subjects were determined by taking levocetirine in the recommended dosage.
