Lactrase&reg is a dietary food for special nutrition in cases of lactose intolerance (milk sugar intolerance).

Lactrase&reg replaces the body's own lactase, which is lacking in lactose intolerance, thus enabling the symptom-free consumption of foods and beverages containing lactose.

In lactose intolerance, lactose is not broken down in the small intestine because the enzyme lactase is not present in sufficient quantities.
In the large intestine, the undigested lactose is fermented by intestinal bacteria
Consequences: Digestive problems such as flatulence and diarrhea

The enzyme lactase contained in Lactrase&reg breaks down lactose, thus taking over the function of the body's own lactase, which is lacking in lactase deficiency.
Lactrase&reg therefore generally enables the symptom-free consumption of milk and dairy products.
This also ensures the body's supply of the essential nutrients, minerals, and vitamins contained in milk.
These include, in particular, protein, calcium, vitamin A, and vitamin D.

The lactase enzyme contained in Lactrase&reg is not of animal origin. It is produced using the fungus Aspergillus oryzae. This fungus has been used for decades to produce food enzymes.

How is Lactrase® used?
You should individually test which amount of Lactrase&reg is sufficient for you. We recommend starting with 1-2 capsules of Lactrase&reg 1500 per 5g of lactose (see table). If you wish to consume larger amounts of lactose (e.g., a glass of milk, a large latte, or several scoops of ice cream with whipped cream) or if you are already sensitive to small amounts of lactose, the use of Lactrase&reg Plus 9000 is recommended. The capsules should be taken immediately before or with lactose-containing foods or drinks. Alternatively, you can open the capsules and pour the contents into food or drinks up to 50°C warm. The capsules are easy to open. Simply squeeze the capsule gently and pull the two halves apart at the same time.
