Field of use
This preparation is a saline solution that is supplied to you via a venous drip.
The solution contains table salt in a concentration that corresponds to the salt controllation in the blood.
It is used to replace liquids and salt at:
- A lack of fluids (isotone dehydration) or simultaneous sodium and fluid deficiency (hypotone dehydration),
- increased pH value and at the same time humiliated chloride level (hypochloremic alkalosis) and for chloride loss.
It is also used:
- for the short -term filling of the vascular system (intravasal volume replacement),
- as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and compatible medication and
- for wound treatment and moisturizing cloths and associations
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
0.018 g sodium chloride
0.308 mmol sodium ion
0.308 mmol chloride ion
Water, for injection purposes auxiliary material (+)
Contradictions
This medicine must not be applied if you suffer from overgrading.
dosage
The amount of solution you receive depends on the fluid and electrolyte requirement.
Maximum dose
This is a maximum of 40 ml per kg body weight and day; This corresponds to 6 mmol sodium per kg body weight and day.
The solution is usually supplied with up to 5 ml per kg of body weight and hour. This corresponds to approx. 1.7 drops per kg body weight and minute. In exceptional cases, e.g. B. for larger blood loss, the solution can also be supplied to them at a much higher speed than pressure infusion. It is carefully taken care that all air from containers and hose is removed before the start of the infusion in order to switch off the risk of air embolism.
The amount required for wound treatment or to moisten depends on the respective needs.
Overdose
Overdosing can lead to increased sodium and chloride levels in the blood (hypernatremia, hyperchloremia), overlap and increased acidity of the blood (acidosis). In such a case, the infusion is canceled immediately, and you may receive a means that increases the urinary flow (a diuretic), whereby your serum electrolyte level is constantly monitored. Your doctor will decide on the administration of other medication or other measures to normalize your serum electrolyte levels, the water balance and the acid-base equilibrium.
Taking
For intravenous use or for rinsing and moistening.

Patient information
Special caution in the application is required for:
- dilated potassium level in the blood (hypocalaemia)
- increased sodium level in the blood (Hyprenatremia)
- increased chloride level in the blood (hyperchloremia)
- Diseases that areas that have a reserved sodium intake, such as heart failure (heart failure), fluid accumulation in the tissue (generalized edema), fluid accumulation in the lungs (pulmonary edema), hypertension (hypertension), pregnancy conditions with high blood pressure, cramps and fluid accumulation in tissue (Eklampsie), severe functional disorders of the kidneys (renal failure)
If you suffer from a lack of water and at the same time a high content of salts in the blood (hypertone dehydration), the solution must be infused sufficiently slowly to increase further dto avoid salt content and in particular sodium level.
During the infusion, your water balance, acid-base equilibrium and serum electrolyte levels are monitored.
Storage conditions
Store drug out of reach of children.
You may no longer apply the medicine after the specified expiry date.
Pregnancy
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking all drugs.
This preparation is to be applied with caution in the case of pregnancy -related disease states with high blood pressure, cramps and fluid accumulation in the tissue (eclampsia).
