Field of use

Iron tablets-ratiopharm 100mg (pack size: 100 pc) are used for the therapy of iron deficiency states. If the body contains too little iron, performance is impaired. Further consequences can be anemia and fatigue.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken,
  • if you are allergic to iron or one of the other components of this drug.
  • if you suffer from anemia caused by infections or cancer, unless there is an iron deficiency.
  • if you have an accumulation of iron in the blood (increased iron values) and iron recycling disorders.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is
  • Adults take 1 to 2 times a day 1 film-coated tablet, corresponding to 100- 200 mg of iron (II) ions.
• Application in children and adolescents
  • The application in children and adolescents under the age of 18 is not planned.
• Patients suffering from kidney or liver disease
  • There is no sufficient data for concrete dosage recommendations for restricted kidney function/liver function.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease. In principle, iron therapy to achieve therapy success is required over a period of at least 8 weeks. After normalizing the blood values (hemoglobin), it should be treated for 6-8 weeks to fill up the iron supply.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • or there is suspicion of overdose by uncontrolled or unintentional intake, especially children, a doctor must be informed immediately!

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • In principle, medicines should be taken according to the doctor's prescription. Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake, but in these cases continue taking as originally intended.

 

• If you cancel the intake
  • Please contact your doctor or pharmacist beforehand, which can best assess any effects on your condition.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of this medicine, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• The film -coated tablets are supposed to be sober in the morning or 1 hour before meals, unsceded withto be taken to prevent possible damage to the mucous membrane by stuck tablets. Do not suck or chew the tablet, and no longer leave the tablet in your mouth. The amount of iron to be performed by the body depends on the stage of iron deficiency. Please ask your doctor.

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the iron tablets.
    • if you suffer from inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal intestinal mucosa. Talk to your doctor before taking it. It will carefully weigh the benefits of treatment against the risk of worsening of the gastrointestinal disease.
    • if you also use dietary or other iron salt supplements. To avoid the risk of possible iron overdose, speak to your doctor before taking it.
  • Due to the risk of oral ulcers (mundulzera) and tooth discoloration, the tablets may not be sucked, chewed or left in the mouth, but should be swallowed with water. If you cannot follow this instruction or have difficulty swallowing, speak to your doctor.

Pregnancy

  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs. Treatment with iron tablets should only be carried out after careful use-risk assessment and consultation with your doctor and the high dosage of 2 times 1 film tablet per day should not be prescribed over a longer period of time.
• Breastfeeding
  • Even during breastfeeding, the preparation should only be prescribed after careful use-risk assessment and after consultation with the doctor.
