The ilon insect repellent spray with its duo-protection formula offers reliable and long-lasting protection against domestic and tropical mosquitoes and ticks. The practical pump spray is suitable for the whole family, including children ages 2 and up. It provides protection in domestic areas such as forests and near water, as well as on long-distance trips to tropical areas.

The duo-protection formula
The duo-protection formula combines the active ingredients icaridin and lemon eucalyptus oil, thus offering different mechanisms of action that complement each other perfectly. This creates a double protective barrier that can reduce the risk of mosquitoes or ticks breaching the barrier.

The active ingredient Icaridin
Makes people virtually invisible to mosquitoes
Icaridin is an active ingredient recommended by WHO to protect the skin from bites by mosquitoes (anti-mosquito spray), biting flies, and ticks. By spraying the mosquito repellent onto the skin, the scent receptors of mosquitoes and tiger mosquitoes no longer detect human scents and are prevented from landing on the skin and biting. The active ingredient has a pleasant scent and, at a concentration of >20% icaridin, is similarly effective to DEET.

Lemon eucalyptus oil
Lemon eucalyptus oil is traditionally used to repel insects and is an alternative for people who prefer plant-based products.

How to use ilon insect repellent spray correctly
For external use only. Do not spray directly onto the face and do not ingest. The spray is also suitable for children 2 years and older. After prolonged contact with water or heavy sweating, the application should be repeated.

Correct application:
• The insect repellent should be sprayed evenly onto all areas of skin to be protected and rubbed in gently.
• For the face, the spray should be sprayed into the palms of the hands and distributed sparingly, avoiding the eyes and mouth area.
• For the area of one forearm (600 cm²), approximately 6–7 sprays (approx. 1 ml) are recommended.
• For small children, the spray should be used sparingly. Application, especially on the face, should be supervised by an adult.

Important safety information:
• Flammability: The spray should be kept away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, or open flames. Smoking should be avoided.
• Eye contact: In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water for at least several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if possible. Continue rinsing and seek medical advice if irritation persists.
• Avoid inhalation: If the spray is inhaled, remove to fresh air. If symptoms occur, seek medical advice.
• Ingestion: If swallowed, rinse mouth thoroughly and drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. If in doubt, consult a doctor.

Active ingredient: 20 g/100 g Lemon eucalyptus oil, hydrated, cyclized, 20.6 g/100 g sec-butyl 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate/lcaridine.
Contains CITRONELLOL, CITRONELLAL, EUCALYPTOL, LINALOOL, 3,7-DIMETHYL-1,6-OCTADIEN-3-OL and DL-LINALOOL.

What attracts mosquitoes and ticks?
Mosquitoes are attracted to breath, sweat, skin odor, warmth, and dark clothing, especially in warm weather or at dusk. Ticks lurk in meadows, bushes, or forests and respond to body odor, warmth, and movement to reach protected areas such as the backs of the knees or the neck. Correct use of insect repellent is important for protection against insect bites. Additional protection can be provided by wearing light, long clothing, avoiding strongly scented skincare products, and thoroughly checking your skin after outdoor activities.

Why is simultaneous protection against mosquitoes and ticks particularly useful in Central Europe?
In our home regions, mosquitoes are annoying but mostly harmless. Ticks, on the other hand, pose a greater risk: According to RKI , up to 35%* of them are infected with pathogens. Protection that works against both mosquitoes and ticks is therefore useful to effectively reduce the risk of infection with FSME or Lyme disease, in addition to repelling mosquitoes.
