Field of use

• The medicine is a synthetically produced glucocorticoid (adrenal hormone) for use on the skin.
• To relieve moderately pronounced inflammatory skin diseases.

Contradictions

• It must not be used,
  • if you are allergic to hydrocortisone or other components of this medicine.
  • for certain skin diseases (e.g. syphilis, skin tuberculosis)
  • for virus infections such as herpes simplex (aching blisters on lips or genitals), herpes zoster (shingles), chickenpox
  • with vaccination reactions
  • with inflammatory redness of the face (rosacea)
  • in the case of fungal infestation (mycoses)
  • in bacterial skin infections
  • at Acne vulgaris and steroid acne
  • on open wounds
  • on the mucous membranes
  • in the case of skin inflammation near the mouth (perioral dermatitis)
  • in the eye
  • during the first third of pregnancy.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose for adults and children from the age of 6 is:
  • At the beginning of the treatment, you generally apply cream 1 to 2 times a day. With improvement in the clinical picture, a one -time application per day is usually sufficient.
• Application in children under 6 years
  • Children up to the age of 6 may only be treated with the medicine in accordance with the medical prescription. A one -time application per day is usually sufficient here. The duration of the treatment should be limited to a maximum of 3 weeks.

 

• Duration of the application
  • The duration of the treatment depends on the type, severity and course of the disease. In general, a treatment duration of 2 weeks should not be exceeded. Long -term application is only possible after consultation with the doctor.
  • A large -scale application (more than 1/10 of the body surface) should be avoided or according to the doctor's instruction.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • If you have applied a larger amount than you should, take the excess cream off the skin again with a cloth.
  • No acute symptoms of poisoning can be expected after an overdose.
  • Reduce the dose or - if possible - use the medication after high -dosed and long -lasting (longer than 4 weeks) application.
  • In the case of long -term (longer than 4 weeks) large -scale (more than 1/10 of the body surface), especially under final associations or on heavily pre -damaged skin, the active ingredient in the body and thus side effects, such as. • If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not apply twice the amount if you have forgotten the previous application.

Taking

• Apply the preparation thinly to the diseased skin and rub it in easily. After applying the cream, please wash your hands.

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation:
    • with a skin infection by bacteria or fungi. This must be treated separately.
    • when using in the face (especially in the area of the eyes, if the risk of increasing the intraocular pressure)
    • when applying body folds (intertriginous area)
    • in the area of skin ulcers (Ulzera)
    • on the genital and anal area
  • Apply the cream to no larger area than 1/10 of the body surface (approx. 10 hand plate), especially under occulmic associations (closely final and covering associations) or on heavily pre -damaged skin, since systemic corticidal effects and side effects can occur in these cases.
  • Before using in these areas, please ask your doctor for advice.
  • If you see blurred vision or other visual disturbances, contact your doctor.
  • Children and older people
    • Particular caution is required for children because they have a larger body surface in relation to the body weight. Children up to the age of 6 may only be treated with the medicine in accordance with the medical prescription. One application per day is usually sufficient here. The duration of the treatment should be limited to a maximum of 3 weeks.
    • Particular caution is required for older people, since they have a thinner, more permeable skin due to a weakened barrier performance of the horny layer (old -age skin).

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • During the first third of pregnancy, hydrocortisone must not be used. In later stages of pregnancy, hydrocortisone may only be used by the treating doctor after careful use-risk assessment. A large or long -term application and final associations in particular must be avoided during pregnancy.
• Breastfeeding
  • The active ingredient contained in hydrocortisone occurs into breast milk. With a large or long -term application, it should be quenched. A contact of the infant with the treated skin areas is to be avoided.
