Haemoprocan 50mg/-100mg film-coated tablets.

Active ingredient: dried iron (II) sulfate.

Application: Treatment of iron deficiency states.
50mg: adults and children from a body weight of 25kg.

Warning: contains lactose and sucrose. Please only take Haemoprocan after consulting your doctor if you are aware that you suffer from intolerance to certain sugar.

Contradictions

  • The medicine must not be taken,
    • if you are allergic to iron sulfate or one of the other components of this drug.
    • if you suffer from anemia caused by infections or cancer, unless there is an iron deficiency.
    • if you have an accumulation of iron in the blood (increased iron values) and iron recycling disorders.

dosage

  • Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
  • Adults take 1 film -coated tablet 4 times a day.
  • Application in children
    • Children from a body weight of 25 kg take a film -coated tablet 3 times a day.
    • Use in children with a body weight of less than 25 kg is not provided.
  • For people who suffer from kidney or liver disease
    • There is no sufficient data for concrete dosage recommendations for restricted kidney function/liver function.
  • The amount of iron to be performed by the body depends on the stage of iron deficiency. Please ask your doctor.

 

  • Duration of treatment
    • The duration of the treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease. In principle, iron therapy to achieve therapy success is required over a period of at least 8 weeks.
    • After normalizing the blood values (hemoglobin), it should be treated for 6-8 weeks to fill up the iron supply.
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

  • If you have taken a larger amount than you should
    • Inform your doctor.

 

  • If you have forgotten the intake
    • In principle, medicines should be taken according to the doctor's prescription.
    • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake, but in these cases continue taking as originally intended.

 

  • If you cancel the intake
    • Please contact your doctor or apot beforehandheker, this can best assess any effects on your condition.

Taking

  • The film -coated tablets should be taken sober in the morning or, each 1 hour before meals, with sufficient fluid to prevent possible damage to the mucous membrane by stuck tablets.
  • Take the tablet Uncerted with water.
  • Do not suck or chew the tablet, and no longer leave the tablet in your mouth.

  • Warnings and Precautions
    • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
    • Due to the risk of oral ulcers (mundulzera) and tooth discoloration, the tablets may not be sucked, chewed or left in the mouth, but should be swallowed with water.
    • If you cannot follow this instruction or have difficulty swallowing, speak to your doctor.
    • Particular caution when taking it is required:
      • if you suffer from inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal mucosa. Talk to your doctor before taking it. He will carefully weigh the benefits of treatment against the risk of worsening the gastrointestinal disease.
      • if you also use dietary or other iron salt supplements. To avoid the risk of possible iron overdose, speak to your doctor before taking it.
      • in children with a body weight below 25 kg, since overdose can lead to poisoning.

 

  • Wateriness and ability to operate machines
    • No effects are known.

Pregnancy

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
  • Treatment with this preparation should only be carried out after careful use-risk assessment and consultation with your doctor and the high dosage of 2 times a film-coated tablet per day should not be prescribed over a longer period of time.
  • Breastfeeding
    • Even during breastfeeding, the preparation should only be prescribed after careful use-risk assessment and after consultation with the doctor.
