Area of application

Ginkgo Doppelherzpharma 240 mg film-coated tablets (pack size: 120 tablets) contain a dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves and are a herbal medicinal product used to improve age-related cognitive impairment and quality of life in mild dementia.

Active ingredients / Ingredients

Ginkgo Doppelherzpharma 240 mg film-coated tablets (pack size: 120 tablets) contains: 240 mg quantified, refined dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67:1), extraction solvent: acetone 60% (w/w).

Other ingredients:
Croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, spray-dried glucose syrup, macrogol 3350, polyvinyl alcohol, talc, titanium dioxide E171, iron (III) oxide yellow E172

Contraindications

This product should not be used if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients.

Dosage

Recommended use of Ginkgo Doppelherzpharma 240 mg film-coated tablets (pack size: 120 tablets):
Adults take 1/2 film-coated tablet twice daily or one film-coated tablet once daily.

How to take

• The film-coated tablets should be taken orally. Do not take the tablets while lying on your back. The tablets should be swallowed whole (not chewed) with liquid, preferably with a glass of drinking water. The tablets can be taken regardless of meals.

  • Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine
    • If you have a pathologically increased tendency to bleed (hemorrhagic diathesis), or if you are taking blood-thinning medications
    • If you have a history of seizures (epilepsy)
    • If you are scheduled for surgery in the next 3 to 4 days
    • If you are taking efavirenz
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms worsen during treatment.
  • Children and Adolescents
    • There is no relevant indication for children and adolescents.

 

• Driving and Operating Machines
  • Your doctor will tell you whether your condition allows you to drive and operate machinery.
  • No adequate studies have been conducted on the effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, suspect you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
• Pregnancy
  • Because there is some evidence that preparations containing ginkgo may increase the tendency to bleed, this medicine should not be taken during pregnancy.
• Breast-feeding
  • This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding as there are insufficient studies. It is not known whether the extract's ingredients pass into breast milk.
