Aurica Galangal Root Powder is made from the ground root of the lesser or true galangal "Alpinia officinarum". Due to its pleasantly tingling and hot flavor, galangal is an indispensable spice, especially in Thai and Indonesian cuisine. Galangal is one of the most important Hildegard von Bingen spices. In terms of taste, it is slightly bitter and spicy, a little like ginger, and the root enriches many recipes in the kitchen and also stimulates digestion and has an antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory effect. I use galangal together with ginger and turmeric every day when cooking and am convinced of the health-promoting effects of this mixture. I am very satisfied with the quality of Aurica's galangal powder.
