Application areas:
Therapy of folic acid deficits that cannot be remedied dietetically.
Field of use
- Folic acid deficiency due to deficiency or malnutrition, chronic alcoholism or gastrointestinal diseases with impaired folic acid consumption increased folic acid needs, e.g. during pregnancy and during breastfeeding, in the event of diseases with high cell renewal or in the case of chronic blood loss indelicacy on certain white blood cells (megaloblast anemia) Due to folic acid deficiency folic acid deficiency as a result of treatment with certain drugs (e.g. trimethoprim, methotrexate), medication for epilepsy (e.g. barbiturates, phenytoin, primidone) and after long-term use of hormonal contraceptives

Contradictions
Thefsitivity reactions can occur against all medicines, then you have to stop taking the medication immediately. If an allergy to the active ingredient or one of the other components of the drug is known, it must not be applied.

Pregnancy
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist!- Studies on pregnant women with daily amounts of up to 5 mg folic acid have no evidence of damage to the embryo or fetus. Folic acid replacement can reduce the risk of spinal cord defects.

- The cause of a megaloblast anemia must be clarified before the start of treatment. -In the case of megaloblast anemia, a possible vitamin B12 deficiency must be excluded due to the risk of nerve disorders before the start of treatment.
