Field of use

Folio 2 Basic Iodine-free film-coated tablets (pack size: 90 pieces) are a dietary supplement from the 13th week until the end of breastfeeding. The micronutrients folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin D3 play a special role in the child's development

Mode of action

Folic acid is particularly important because it is necessary for all cell division and cell growth processes - and thus for the development of organs and the nervous system - for the closure of the neural tube and for the growth of maternal tissue. Accordingly, it is also important for the future life and should be available to the body in sufficient quantities right from the beginning of pregnancy.
Vitamin B12 is required by folic acid to carry out its tasks, because the two vitamins work closely together in all areas. Vitamin B12 is also important for the normal functions of the nervous and immune systems, but also for the normal formation of red blood cells and the energy balance of the immune system.
Vitamin D3 contributes to the normal development of the skeletal, muscular and immune systems. In addition, with adequate care, the risks of certain complications during pregnancy can be reduced (such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, SGA-children or premature birth). And: It has been found that allergy rates in children are lower if their mothers were provided with enough vitamin D during pregnancy.
