Field of use

Since our bodies cannot form iron itself, we are dependent on an external supply. Especially during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but even during growth, we have an increased iron requirement. Ferrum Hausmann 50mg iron/5ml (pack size: 200 ml) contains a special complex of iron and a starch -like connection.

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be used,
  • if you are hypersensitive to iron (II) fumarate or one of the other components of the drug,
  • if you suffer from iron storage disease (hemochromatosis),
  • if you suffer from an iron recycling disorder (sideroachrestic anemia, lead anemia, thalassemia),
  • if it was not triggered by anemia that was not triggered by iron deficiency, but by infections or tumors, suffering,
  • if it suffers from hemolytic anemia (anemia that arises from shortened lifespan of the red blood cells),
  • if you suffer from an iron overload,
  • if you suffer from severe liver and kidney diseases.

dosage

• Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction in this package insert. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:
  • The doses for infants, toddlers and children refer to 3 mg iron / kg Kör-Perweight per day.
  • Infants and toddlers:
    • 2.5 - 5 ml (25 - 50 mg of iron) per day distributed to 1-2 individual dates
  • Children:
    • 5 - 10 ml (50 - 100 mg of iron) per day distributed to 2 individual dates
  • Adult:
    • 10 - 20 ml (100 - 200 mg of iron) per day distributed to 2 individual dates

 

• Duration of the application:
  • The duration of treatment depends on the iron material change (reduced intake, increased need, pathological iron losses) and the normalization of the red blood count.
  • After normalizing the red blood count, the therapy with the medicine is to be continued for 1-2 months in order to fill up the body's iron reserves. This further intake should take place under the control of serum feritin values.
  • Do not take the medicine without a medical advice for more than 4 weeks.
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak.
• If you have used a larger amount of the drug than you should
  • The iron in the medicine is available in a special complex connection. The toxicity of this connection is low. So far, neither poisoning nor iron overdates have become known to the medicine.
  • As a typical sign of iron poisoning, such as those occurring in other iron preparations, such as iron (II) salts, unrest, severe body pain, violent vomiting, diarrhea and severe shock. In such a case, immediate medical treatment is necessary.
• If you forgot to take the drug
  • Do not take the double dose if you have forgotten the prior intake. Sofern The next income is not imminent within a few hours, you can catch up with the forgotten intake. Otherwise, take the preparation in the intended dosage at the next time you take it.

 

• If you cancel the intake of the drug
  • If you interrupt the treatment or end prematurely, the conclusion of the treatment or the success is delayed.

Taking

• Solution for oral intake.
• The medicine should be taken with or directly after meals.

Patient information

• Particular caution when using the drug is required,
  • if you have diseases of the gastrointestinal tract such as gastric mucosal inflammation, stomach and intestinal ulcers and inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g. ulcer colitis, Crohn colitis).

 

• Wateriness and operating machines
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Pregnancy and breast feeding period
  • Reports on undesirable effects after taking oral iron preparations in therapeutic doses to treat iron deficiency bloody mutuality during pregnancy are not yet known.
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should only take the medicine by ordering your doctor.
  • Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using pharmaceuticals.

Miscellaneous

- The solution does not discolour the teeth; It also does not have a disturbing metal taste.
- When taking iron, there is usually a harmless black coloring of the kots while taking it.
- Iron can be the cause of constipation.
- The doctor should check the blood values about every 4 weeks.
