Supports you and your baby's normal development
In advanced pregnancy, nutrition plays an important role. Calorie intake should only increase slightly in the second and third trimesters – instead, more vitamins and minerals are needed. Particular attention should be paid to nutrients such as iodine, iron, folate, and omega-3 fatty acids. In addition to a balanced and varied diet, experts explicitly recommend iodine supplementation to ensure an adequate supply of this trace element.
Femin AL 3 Pregnancy is specifically tailored to the needs from the 13th week of pregnancy until birth. The dietary supplement provides you with a selected combination of important nutrients to specifically support you and your child's normal development.
Important nutrients with just 1 capsule per day
The dosage is simple and practical: 1 capsule daily is sufficient! Each softgel capsule contains a variety of nutrients that are especially important during pregnancy. Folic acid supports, among other things, the growth of maternal tissue (e.g., placenta), cell division, normal blood formation, and normal immune system function. The active form of folic acid, L-methylfolate, in Femin AL 3 Pregnancy can be directly utilized by the body.
Iodine plays an important role in the physical and mental development of the child. The omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function in mother and child.1 The formula is supplemented with other selected vitamins and minerals for the increased needs in late pregnancy, as well as lutein, a natural free radical scavenger.
1 Maternal intake of DHA (polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid) contributes to the normal development of the fetus's brain and eyes. Contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function.
RECOMMENDED USE:
Take 1 soft capsule per day with sufficient liquid, preferably after a meal. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily intake.
Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
You should avoid these foods
While a varied mix of vitamin- and nutrient-rich foods is recommended during pregnancy, caution is advised with some products, as they may contain listeriosis or toxoplasmosis pathogens. Although infections are rare in this country, they can harm your unborn child.
You should therefore avoid raw foods of animal origin, especially raw milk and raw milk products, raw meat and raw sausage (e.g., salami, tea sausage), as well as raw and smoked fish (e.g., sushi, smoked salmon). Thoroughly wash fruit, salad, and vegetables that you intend to eat raw beforehand.
Hygiene should always be observed in the kitchen and when preparing food. To protect against salmonella, only eat eggs that are thoroughly cooked.
Stay active during pregnancy
If your pregnancy is progressing normally, there's nothing wrong with continuing to be physically active. Quite the opposite: Regular exercise – ideally about 30 minutes a day – promotes your well-being and is also good for your baby. Moderate endurance sports such as walking, cycling, swimming, or prenatal exercises are recommended – the main thing is that you enjoy them and they're not too strenuous. It's best to discuss with your gynecologist how intensive your training should be.
Does exercise not fit into your busy daily routine? Smaller bouts of exercise, such as cycling to work or taking a brisk walk during your lunch break, can also be easily incorporated into everyday life.
Frequently Asked Questions & Answers
How do my calorie needs change during pregnancy?
Unlike nutrient needs, energy needs only increase slightly during pregnancy. If physical activity remains the same as before pregnancy, the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends an additional 250 calories per day in the second trimester and 500 kcal in the third trimester.* It is recommended that the additional calories be obtained from nutrient-rich foods.
If physical activity decreases in advanced pregnancy, there is no need to increase energy intake.
