Eziclen® concentrate
To manufacture a solution to take
Eziclen is indicated in adults to clean the intestine for interventions of all kinds, in which a cleaned intestine is required (e.g. visual representation of the intestine finally endoscopy as well as radiological or operational measures).
Eziclen is not a medication for constipation.

Field of use
- The drug contains three different active ingredients: sodium sulfate, magnesium sulfate and potassium sulfate.
- It is used in adults to clean the intestine in front of a medical or surgical intervention on it.
- It is not used to treat constipation.
- Before use, the drug must be diluted with the amount of water specified under the category "way.

Contradictions
- The medicine must not be taken if
- They are allergic to sodium sulfate, magnesium sulfate or potassium sulfate or one of the other components of this drug.
- You have a heavy heart problem (congestive heart failure).
- They suffer from serious deterioration in general health, such as: B. strong dehydration.
- They are in an acute phase of an inflammatory intestinal disease (including Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
- They suffer from one of the following stomach or intestinal problems:
- Suspected or known intestinal closure or narrowing (stenosis)
- Toxic colitis or toxic megacolon
- Suspected or existing perforated intestinal wall
- Intestinal paralysis
- Disorder of gastric emptying (such as gastroparesis, stomach stem)
- Acute, surgery of abdominal diseases, such as acute appendicitis (appendicitis)
- Nausea and vomiting
- They have ascites (abdominal water addiction).
- They have severe kidney problems (heavy renal failure).
- If you are not sure, speak to your doctor before taking the medicine.
dosage
- Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- How and when should the medicine be taken
- The preparation can be taken either according to a "two-day" plan or a "one-day" plan. Your doctor will decide which plan you should follow and set the time.
- If no (short) anesthesia is made, you have to stop drinking any liquids at least one hour before the start of the procedure.
- If a (short) anesthesia is carried out, taking into account your doctor's instructions, you usually have to stop drinking any liquids at least two hours before the start of the intervention.
- "Two-day" plan
- The application is spread over the evening before the procedure and the morning on the day of the intervention.
- The day before theiff:
- Start with the first part of the plan (first bottle) in the early evening (i.e. not later than 6:00 p.m.).
- On the day of the intervention:
- Start with the second part of the plan (second bottle) in the early morning, about 10 to 12 hours after the start of the first part (first bottle).
- "One-day" plan
- The application begins and ends in the evening before the procedure.
- The day before the procedure:
- Start with the first part of the plan (first bottle) in the early evening (i.e. not later than 6:00 p.m.).
- Start with the second part of the plan (second bottle) about 2 hours after the start of the first part (first bottle).
- "Two-day" plan
- If you have taken a larger amount than you should
- If you think that you have taken too much or have not diluted it as prescribed or have not drunk enough additional water, report this to your doctor and drink enough water or clear liquids to avoid dehydration.
- If you have forgotten the intake
- If you have forgotten a dose, speak to your doctor as soon as possible, as this can mean that the drug will not work as expected.

Taking
- Take the medicine over your mouth.
- A light breakfast is allowed the day before the procedure. After that, you should only consume clear liquids as lunch and dinner and as another meal until the intervention is over. Do not drink red and purple liquids, milk and alcoholic beverages.
- The medicine is delivered in a box with 2 bottles and a cup to dilute and take medicine. You need all of this for your treatment.
- Do not drink the content of both bottles at once.
- Don't drink the contents of the bottles before you have diluted it.
- Don't forget to drink the additional amount of water or a permitted clear liquid.
- Your doctor will give you a form on which you enter the start of treatment and the amounts of fluid that you have drunk during preparation for colon cleansing. You should follow the instructions exactly and drink as much water or clear liquids as necessary to prevent dehydration.
- "Clear liquids" are water, tea or coffee (without milk or coffee), bubbling (carbonated) or silence (carbon dioxide -free) refreshment drinks, filtered fruit juice without pulp (not red or purple colors), clear soup or sifted soup without solids.
- Do not consume alcoholic drinks.
- Regardless of which schedule your doctor has selected, you should follow the following steps both in the first and the second part of the plan:

- Pour the contents of a bottle into the cup.
- Add the pharmaceutical water until the marking on the cup is reached.
- Take your time (more than half up to an hour) to drink the entire liquid in the cup.
- Important: Drink two (2) other cups with water or a clear liquid. Fill the cup every time to the marking line with water or clear liquid.
- Take your time (more than half an hour) to drink the entire liquid in the cup.
- The upper steps should take around 2 hours and repeat in the second part of the plan.
- Whatever your plan looks like, you have to stop drinking any liquids:
- At least one hour before the start of the intervention if no (short) anesthesia is carried out.
- Usually at least 2 hours before the start of the intervention, taking into account the instructions of your doctor if a (short) anesthesia is carried out.
Patient information
- Warnings and precautionary measures
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine
- They are dehydrated (signs of this can be: dry mouth, thirst, headache, dizziness, urination less often than usual, extreme fatigue, palpitations and confusion).
- a normal sodium and potassium levels have already been measured in the blood.
- They have a heart problem. Due to the changes in salt concentrations in the blood, the medicine can influence the heart rhythm. Your doctor may have to monitor you during the treatment.
- They have a kidney problem.
- They have a liver problem.
- You have a "uric acid" problem (gout or similar).
- They have problems swallowing.
- They suffer from "reflux", with acid getting into the esophagus from their stomach.
- They are physically weak or healthy.
- the mobility of their intestines is partially or overall limited (hypomotility).
- medical circumstances have already been determined or gastrointestinal surgery were carried out earlier, which they predestine for hypomotility.
- If you are weak or older (65 years or older), have a heavy kidney, liver or heart disease or have an increased risk of changes in salt concentrations in the body (electrolyte-tongue weight), your doctor can decide, special surveillance and to carry out after the procedure. You should pay particular attention to the recommendations in this category and in the "Interactions", "way" and "dosage" category.
- If you suffer from severe vomiting or symptoms of dehydration (e.g. dry mouth, thirst feeling) after taking this medicine, please contact your doctor. This should carry out measures for rehydration.
- If severe or persistent abdominal pain and/or bleeding of the anus occurs after treatment with the medicine, contact your doctor. The preparation was associated with rare cases of intestinal inflammation (colitis).
- If any of the information listed above applies to you (or you are not safe), speak to your doctor before taking it.
- After taking the medication, you will have frequent, loose bowel movements. This is normal and shows that the drug works. Better stay near a toilet until the effect of the medication has subsided.
- You should follow the instructions for taking it exactly and drink as much water or clear liquids as necessary to prevent dehydration.
- Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine
- Children and adolescents
- The drug should not be taken by patients under the age of 18. The security and effectiveness have not yet been determined in this population group.
- Wateriness and ability to operate machines
- The medicine probably has no influence on the ability to use and the ability to use machines.
Pregnancy
- If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this drug.
- Breastfeeding
- If you breastfeed, you should not breastfeed your baby during a period of 48 hours after taking the second dose.
