Field of use

• The medicine is a vitamin E preparation.
• It is used to treat a vitamin E lack.
• It is not suitable for the treatment of vitamin E deficiency states that are associated with a disturbed absorption of vitamin E from the intestine. In these cases, parenteral preparations (injection solutions) are available.

Contradictions

• You must not take the medicine if you are allergic to DL-alpha-tocopherolacetate (vitamin E) or one of the other components of this medicine.

dosage

• Always take this medicine exactly as described or exactly after the agreement made with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure.
• How and how often should you take the preparation?
  • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for adults is:
    • 1 soft capsule 201 mg once a day
    • This corresponds to 300 mg DL-alpha-tocopherolacetate or 201 mg RRR-alpha-tocopherolequivalent.

 

• How long can you take the preparation?
  • The duration of the intake depends on the course of the underlying disease. Therefore, please ask your doctor.
  • Also talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have taken a larger amount than you should
  • Please notify a doctor if you have taken a larger amount than you should. Dangerous symptoms due to overdosing (hypervitaminoses) are not known.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake
  • Do not take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.
  • Go on to take it as prescribed by your doctor or as described here.

 

• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Taking

• Take the capsules with sufficient liquid, preferably with a glass of drinking water (200 ml).

  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the preparation,
    • if you also take certain medicines to inhibit blood clotting.
    • if you have a vitamin K deficiency at the same time. In the case of combined vitamin E and vitamin K deficiency due to malabsorption, blood clotting must be monitored carefully, since in individual cases there was a strong drop in vitamin K.

 

• What effects does the preparation have on the traffic and operating machines?
  • There are no special precautions required.

Pregnancy

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.
• Pregnancy
  • During pregnancy you should consume 13 mg vitamin E every day. The prepacouncil passes the placenta. So far, no damage has been observed in the unborn child - even with higher income quantities.
• Breastfeeding
  • During breastfeeding you should consume 17 mg vitamin E every day. The preparation gets into breast milk.
