Field of use

• The medicine is a gastrointestinal agent, acts as a defany, and is a tool for diagnostics.
• Its active ingredient Simeticon lets the gas bubbles embedded in the food porridge and mucus in the mucus of the digestive tract. The gases that become free can now be absorbed by the intestinal wall and removed by the intestinal activity.
• Application areas
  • For symptomatic treatment of gas-related gastrointestinal complaints, such as B. flatulence (meteorism), feeling of fullness, infant colic (three -month colic)
  • To prepare studies in the abdominal area, such as B. X -ray, sonography (ultrasound), gastroscopy
  • As a defany for poisoning with detergents (surfactants)

Contradictions

• The medicine must not be taken/applied if they are hypersensitive to Simeticon.

dosage

• To treat gas-related gastrointestinal complaints
  • z. B. flatulence (meteorism), feeling of fullness, infant colic (three -month colic):
    • Infants: 25 drops (corresponding to 1 ml) in the bottle food or before or after breastfeeding
    • Children from 1-6 years: 25 drops (corresponding to 1 ml); 3 to 5 times a day
    • Children from 6-14 years: 25-50 drops (corresponding to 1-2 ml); 3 to 5 times a day
    • Children from 6-14 years: 25-50 drops (corresponding to 1-2 ml); 3 to 5 times a day
  • Note: Involtage is also possible after operations.
  • The emulsion is taken to or after meals, if necessary even before going to bed.
  • The duration of the application depends on the course of the symptoms. If necessary, the emulsion can also be taken over a long time
• To prepare examinations in the abdominal area
  • X -ray, ultrasound:
    • on the day before the examination: 3 times 2 ml (corresponds to 50 drops or 3 times 1 pumping push)
    • in the morning of the examination day: 2 ml (corresponds to 50 drops or 1 pumping bone)
  • As an addition to contrast medium pensions:
    • 4-8 ml (corresponds to 2-4 pump kicks) to 1 liter of contrast porridge for double contrast presentation
  • To prepare endoscopic examinations of the upper gastrointestinal tract (gastroscopy):
    • before endoscopy 4-8 ml (corresponds to 2-4 pump bumps)
    • If necessary, a few milliliters of the emulsion can be given to remove disruptive foam bubbles during the examination through the instrument channel of the endoscope.
• As a defany for poisoning with detergents (surfactants)
  • Depending on the severity of the poisoning:
    • Children: 2.5-10 ml or ½ - 2 teaspoons
    • Adults: 10-20 ml or 2 - 4 teaspoons

 

• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the emulsion is too strong or too weak.
• If you have taken/ applied a larger amount of emulsion than you should
  • Poisoning after application are nnot known.
  • The active ingredient Simeticon brings the foam in the gastrointestinal duct in a purely physical way to resolution and is chemically and biologically completely ineffective. Therefore, poisoning is practically excluded. Large quantities of the emulsion are also easily tolerated.

 

• If you have forgotten the intake/application
  • In this case, you can catch up at any time.

 

• If you cancel the intake/application
  • In this case, the symptoms can occur.
• If you have any further questions about the application of the drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

 

Taking

• Shake before use
• To drop the bottle vertically down; If necessary, remove the dripper and dose with the help of the enclosed measuring cup.
• The medicine is taken to or after meals, if necessary also before sleeping.
• To prepare for imaging examinations, the recommended amount is taken on the day before the examination and on the morning of the examination day, unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor.

• Particular caution when taking/using the drug is required
  • There are no special precautions required.
  • In the event of newly occurring and/or longer -lasting abdominal complaints, you should see a doctor so that the cause of the symptoms and a disease that may be underlying can be recognized.

  • There are no concerns about taking the emulsion during pregnancy and lactation.

Espumisan emulsion must not be taken in the event of hypersensitivity (allergy) against Simeticon or one of the other components of Espumisan emulsion.

The use of Espumisan emulsion is also possible after operations.
Espumisan emulsion is sugar -free.
