Field of use

The preparation is a medicine against diseases caused by an iron deficiency in the body (Antianema).

It is used for iron deficiency, especially iron deficiency anemia (anemia)

- Malnutrition, especially in phases, increased iron requirements (pregnancy, growth)

- Increased iron loss (e.g. for increased menstrual bleeding, blood loss due to operations or accidents, blood donations, stomach and/or intestinal bleeding)

- Reduced iron absorption into the body (paint absorption), e.g. B. after operational removal of stomach or intestinal sections.

Contradictions

The medicine must not be taken:

- if you are hypersensitive to iron (II) sulfate or one of the other components.
- if there is an oversupply of iron in your body (hemochromatoses, chronic hemolysen),
- if you suffer from an iron recycling disorder (sideroachrestic anemia, lead anemia, thalassemia)
- with iron intolerance
- for all forms of anemia that are not based on an iron deficiency (e.g. tumor, infecting anemia).

dosage

Always take the medicine exactly according to the instruction. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is:

Adults and children from the age of 12 take 1 soft capsule every day.

Treatment duration:
Your doctor decides on the duration of the application. It depends on the cause and the degree of the existing iron deficit as well as the course of treatment. After the treatment of the blood has returned to the norm (this can take up to 10 weeks), the continuation of the treatment (possibly over 3 to 6 months) is recommended to fill up the body's iron reserve.

Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of the preparation is too strong or too weak.

Overdose:
In adults, after taking more than 20 soft capsules, in small children, symptoms of poisoning such as nausea, bloody vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain can occur after swallowing 3 soft capsules. In severe cases, circulatory collapse, sleepiness, reduced urine output and shock occur.
If there is suspicion of poisoning, please inform a doctor immediately!

Forgotten intake:
If you forget a soft capsule, take the next soft capsule as usual. It is not necessary to subsequently take a forgotten soft capsule.

Taking

Please take the soft capsules with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water).

The application on an empty stomach (about ½ to 1 hour before a main meal) must be given advantage, since then the iron is absorbed in the body. Only if stomach has occurred repeatedly when the intestine is used, can the intake with or after meals can be taken to better compatibility. If the medicine is not tolerated in rare individual cases together with a meal, e.g. B. a low -dosed preparation.

Gastrointestinal disorders can also get through slow increase of the dose at the start of treatment.

Patient information

Particular caution when taking the preparation is required:
- if you use dietary or other iron salt supplements, you must observe the risk of possible iron overdose.
- if you suffer from pre-existing inflammation or ulcers of the stomach and intestinal mucosa, the benefit of treatment should be carefully weighed against the risk of worsening of the gastrointestinal disease.
Please ask a doctor in these cases.

Wateriness and operating machines:
There are no special precautions required.

Children:
The preparation is not determined for children under the age of 12.

Store drug out of reach of children.

Pregnancy

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking/using all drugs.

Treatment with the preparation should only take place after careful risk assessment and consultation with your doctor.

Still -time:

Even during breastfeeding, the medicine should only be taken after careful useful risk assessment and after consultation with your doctor.

Hints

Miscellaneous

- Not all forms of anemia need to take iron. With certain forms, the additional intake of an iron medication can even be disadvantageous.
- When taking iron, there is usually a harmless black coloring of the kots while taking it.
- Iron can be the cause of constipation.
- The doctor should check the blood values about every 4 weeks.
