Type of application?
Take the medicine with liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water).
Duration of use?
The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and/or the course of the disease. It should therefore be determined in consultation with your doctor. In principle, iron therapy is required over a period of at least 8 weeks. After normalization of the iron values, treatment should be continued for 6-8 weeks.
Overdose?
A variety of overdose symptoms can occur, including nausea, vomiting blood, upset stomach, diarrhea, drowsiness, and circulatory collapse. Small children in particular are very vulnerable. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor immediately.
Forgot to take?
Continue taking it as normal (i.e. not double the amount) at the next prescribed time.
In general, pay attention to a conscientious dosage, especially for babies, small children and the elderly. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist about any effects or precautions.

Field of use
Iron tablets ratiopharm 100mg (pack size: 50 pieces) are used to treat iron deficiency states. When the body has too little iron, performance is impaired. Further consequences can be anemia and exhaustion.
Active substances / ingredients / ingredients
Iron tablets ratiopharm 100mg (pack size: 50 pieces) contains:
The active substance is: dried ferrous sulfate.
Each film-coated tablet contains 302.237-309.106 mg of dried ferrous sulfate, equivalent to 100 mg of elemental iron.
The other ingredients are: maltodextrin, calcium stearate (Ph.Eur.), lactose monohydrate, copovidone, macrogol 4000, talc, calcium carbonate (E 170), cocoa butter, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) (vegetable source), shellac, titanium dioxide (E 171), cellulose powder, maize starch, sodium starch glycolate (type A) (Ph.Eur.), sodium laurilsulfate, sucrose, povidone K25, iron oxides and hydroxides (E 172)
Contraindications
- The drug must not be taken,
- if you are allergic to iron or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
- if you suffer from anemia caused by infections or cancer, unless you have an iron deficiency at the same time.
- if you have an accumulation of iron in your blood (raised iron levels) and problems with iron utilization.
dosage
- Always take this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- The recommended dose is
- Adults take 1 film-coated tablet once or twice a day, equivalent to 100-200 mg iron(II) ions.
- Use in children and adolescents
- It is not intended for use in children and adolescents under the age of 18.
- Patients suffering from kidney or liver disease
- There is insufficient data for specific dosage recommendations in the case of impaired kidney function/liver function.
- Duration of use
- The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease. In principle, iron therapy is required over a period of at least 8 weeks in order to achieve successful therapy. After the blood values (hemoglobin) have normalized, treatment should be continued for another 6 - 8 weeks to replenish the iron supply.
- Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
- If you take more than you should
- or if there is a suspicion of an overdose due to uncontrolled or unintentional intake, especially by children, a doctor must be informed immediately!
- If you forget to take a dose
