Field of use

• With diclofenac sodium, the preparation contains an active ingredient from the group of so-called non-steroidal anti-phlogistics/analgesics (inflammation and pain inhibitors).
• Area of application in adults
  • The pain gel is used for external supportive symptomatic treatment of pain in acute strains, sprains or bruises in the area of extremities as a result of dull trauma, e.g. B. sports injuries.
• Area of application for young people from the age of 14
  • For short -term treatment
    • For local, symptomatic treatment of pain in acute bruises, strains or sprains due to a blunt trauma.

Contradictions

• The product must not be used
  • if you are allergic to Diclofenac or one of the other components of this drug
  • if you have reacted in the past with breathing problems (asthma, bronchospasm), skin reactions (hives), running nose or swelling of the face or tongue after taking/using acetylsalicylic acid or another non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (e.g. ibuprofen)
  • on open injuries, inflammation or infections of the skin as well as on eczema or mucous membranes
  • in the last third of the pregnancy
  • for children and adolescents under the age of 14.

dosage

• Always apply this medicine exactly as described here or exactly according to your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The recommended dose is
  • Adults and adolescents from the age of 14
    • Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, a cherry to walnut -sized amount is required, corresponding to 2 - 4 g gel (20 - 40 mg diclofenac sodium).
    • The maximum total daily dose is 16 g gel, corresponding to 160 mg diclofenac sodium.
    • Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the gel is used 3 to 4 times a day.
    • In the event of complaints that have not improved or worsened after 3-5 days, a doctor should be consulted.
  • Older patients
    • No special dose adjustment is required. However, older patients should pay particular attention to side effects when using and, if necessary, consult their doctor or pharmacist.
  • Limited kidney or liver function
    • No dose reduction is required.
  • Children and adolescents (under 14 years)
    • There is no sufficient data on the effectiveness and tolerance in children and adolescents under the age of 14.
  • Young people (from 14 years)
    • In adolescents aged 14 and older, the patient/parents gets advise to see a doctor if the medicine is needed for more than 7 days for pain treatment or the symptoms worsen.

 

 

• Duration of the application
  • As a rule, an application over 1 to 2 weeks is sufficient. The therapeutic benefit of an application beyond this period is not proven.
  • Do not apply more than necessary from this preparation and only for the minimally required duration of use.
• Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

 

• If you have used a larger amount than you should
  • Since the overall organism is largely spared in external use of the preparation, overdose is extremely unlikely even with large -scale and longer use.
  • If the recommended dosage is clearly exceeded during use on the skin, the gel should be removed again (e.g. with a paper towel) and washed off with water.
  • If you swallow (e.g. also in children), please contact your doctor immediately, who will decide on suitable measures.

 

• If you have forgotten the application
  • Do not apply twice the amount if you have forgotten the previous application.

Taking

• Type of application
  • The gel is intended for use on the skin. Do not take!
  • Apply the drug to the affected parts of the body thinly and rub it in slightly. It should not be rubbed with pressure.
  • Then the hands should be wiped on a paper towel and then washed, unless these are the area to be treated. The paper towel must be disposed of in residual waste.
  • Before creating an association, the gel should dry up on the skin for a few minutes. Also wait before showering or swimming until the gel has dried on the skin.
  • The application of a densely final association (occlusal association) is not recommended.

Patient information

• Warnings and Precautions
  • Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using the pain gel.
  • If the gel is applied to the skin over a longer period of time, the occurrence of side effects that affect a certain organ system or the entire organism cannot be ruled out. These side effects are comparable to those that may occur when taking other diclofenac-containing medicines.
  • The preparation is not used for a long time or in higher doses than the specified.
  • The gel may only be applied to intact, non -sick skin and not to open wounds. Eyes and mucous membranes must not come into contact with the medicine and it must not be taken. If the gel gets into your eyes, rinse them carefully with water. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if the symptoms stop.
  • You can use an association, but no occlusal association (densely final association). Before creating an association, the gel should dry up on the skin for a few minutes.
  • Particular caution in the application is necessary for acute conditions that are associated with strong redness, swelling or overheating of joints. In the event of ongoing joint complaints or with violent back pain that radiate into the legs and/or are connected with neurological failure (e.g. numbness, tingling), you should see a doctor.
  • In the event of complaints that have not improved or worsened after 3-5 days, a doctor should be consulted.
  • If you are at asthma, hay fever, nasal mucosal swelling (so -called nasal polyps), chronic, bronchy -consuming (obstructive) respiratory diseases, chronic respiratory infections (particularly coupled with hay -fever -like appearances) or hypersensitivity to others Pain and rheumatism of all kinds suffer, when using the preparation by asthma attacks (so-called analgesic intolerance/anal asthma), local skin or mucosal swelling (so-called Quincke-edema) or hives (urticaria), they are more at risk than other patients. In this case, the gel may only be under certain precautionary measures (emergency willingness) and direct medical
    Control to be applied. The same applies to patients who also react hypersensitive to other substances, such as: B. with skin reactions, itching or nettle fever.
  • If a rash occurs during the treatment, end the treatment.
  • During the treatment, light sensitivity can occur with the occurrence of skin symptoms after exposure to light.
  • It should be ensured that children with their hands do not come into contact with grated skin areas.
• Children and adolescents
  • The gel must not be used in children and adolescents under the age of 14, since there is no sufficient experiences for this age group.

 

• Wateriness and ability to operate machines
  • The medicine has no or a negligible influence on the roadworthiness and the ability to use machines.

Pregnancy

• If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this drug.
• Pregnancy
  • In the first and second thirds of pregnancy, the gel should only be used after consultation with the doctor.
  • In the last third of the pregnancy, you must not use the gel because an increased risk of complications for mother and child cannot be ruled out.
• Breastfeeding
  • Diclofenac passes into breast milk in small quantities. The preparation should only be applied during breastfeeding after consultation with the doctor. The medicine should not be applied to large other skin areas in the chest area or over a longer period of time.
