Cutimed® Sorbact® GEL is a hydrogel -soaked germ -reducing wound base. It cleans the wound of coverings and necrotic fabrics through autolytic débridement and reduces the number of germ in the wound based on the principle of hydrophobic interaction:
The special Sorbact®coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water -repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore bind to the Sorbact®tissue. With every change of association, the number of germ in the wound is reduced and optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process are created.
